What is a good moveset for Banette?

- Destiny Bond

Gunk Shot is a strong coverage move. Shadow Claw is STAB. Knock Off can be used instead to remove items, and with you use Frisk with Knock Off, you can see if one of the opponent's item is worth removing. Shadow Sneak is for piority STAB revenge killing. Destiny Bond is to take out a Pokemon when you get knocked out.

A mixed Life Orb set for BDSP PU if you decide to use Banette. Shadow Claw is used as your STAB move that has a chance to land a criticial hit. Knock Off lets you cripple Pokemon switching in by removing their item. Thunderbolt lets you deal super effective damage to Floatzel and Pelipper. Shadow Sneak allows you to revenge kill weakened Pokemon and is useful for chipping fast Pokemon.

Knock Off is a great utility move. Shadow Sneak is priority. Pain Split is great for recovery against high HP Pokémon, and gets priority with Prankster. Gunk Shot is great coverage. Tera Ghost / Dark is to boost Knock Off or Shadow Sneak.

Gen 9 National Dex Monotype Swords Dance (Ghost)

A Swords Dance set used on Screens HO Ghost teams in Gen 9 NatDex Monotype. With Sableye holding Light Clay on Screens Ghost teams, Mega Banette ends up being the used Mega on those teams (it's literally the only other Mega option lol) as a wallbreaker for those teams. With Swords Dance, Mega Banette can boost its attack stat to be able to deal more damage to opposing Pokemon. Poltergeist is the STAB move due to it being Mega Banette's most powerful move. Shadow Sneak provides Mega Banette with a priority move to allow it to revenge kill faster Pokemon. Sucker Punch is also on this set to provide Mega Banette with a slighty stronger priority move should you be in a situation where Sucker Punch can finish off a Pokemon that Shadow Sneak would fail to do. Sucker Punch also lets you hit Hisuian Zoroark super effectively. Gunk Shot can be used instead for a coverage move to allow Mega Banette to deal neutral damage to Dark-types such as Hisuian Samurott and Roaring Moon. Frisk is used for the Pre Mega Evolution ability, which can be useful to scout the set of a Pokemon.

The EV spread was from a Ghost Screens HO team I was passed. Unfortunately, the original person who made the spread doesn't remember what the EV spread does, but the Speed EVs allow Mega Banette to outspeed Mega Swampert outside of rain. You could probably get away with using a max max spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe though.

Other move options
There are some other move options you could use on this set. Thunder Wave or Will-O-Wisp can be used to spread status to opposing Pokemon. Skitter Smack can be an option to have a more accurate move to hit Dark-types, as well as being able to hit Ting-Lu super effectively. Destiny Bond can be used as a emergency way to get rid of a threatening Pokemon.
