Bringing some attention to the Name Changes

Question

This'll be a shorter post as it's not as pressing of an issue as the promotions topic that Fizz had brought up a little while ago, but to my knowledge, name changes have not occurred in a significant amount of time and users who are more active on Meta have been trying to bring this to PM's knowledge as a side topic in other threads, so I thought I'd make an actual thread to bring it to light as a reminder of such to PM so hopefully this and the plug towards to the Promotions topic is enough for it to be significant.

Both the name changes and promotions should be happening right now. A lot of things should be happening right now, really. These posts help get the word out and remind Pokemaster.
For clarity, promoting editors is as simple as going to the account page and setting the promotion, and opening the name changes happens by just checking a box in the admin (neither things mods can access obviously). This is why I'm a bit sad we're waiting so long on this stuff, all of it can be done in seconds.

What we really need is a second, independent Pokemon QA that's identical to this one except Fizz owns it, and a new owner is elected every year. Hopefully that guarantees that we're never ownerless for more than a year.

I don't know if this would count as a seriously bad situation, but if you guys feel it's truly something that needs to be addressed by PM asap you might be able to contact him on the q2a site since he seems to be quite active there. I'm not sure about bothering him on this so I'll leave it up to a mod or someone

First, for almost all users, lack of name change periods can easily be worked around by changing the username in the RMT.
@Lenny Pokemaster's last activity on Pokebase was April 15. I don't think that counts as "quite active".

Does anyone else have access to editing the front page other than Pokemaster? Also Lenny was talking about the Q2A site, not the Pokebase.

Huh, I swear I'd done a name change this year already... how the time flies. Really sorry guys, I'll look at doing a name change session asap.
