Meta-PokéBase Q&A

I was looking on Pokebase (on my Chromebook) and got a 525 error. This didn't fix when I went to other pages on the DB or reloaded pages. My wifi was not down. It then sent me to a version of the site that I belive I couldn't post/do anything but view the page's content (I didn't really check this, but I tried to comment and it didn't work) and said that the site wasn't online or something like that and had an option to request a Live Version of the site (which didn't work either).

Edit: This didn't happen for any of my other web pages at the time, and never happened to me before...

Did Pokemaster do something with the site and had to do this (Like how the PGL turns off its site to do maintenance, although they tell you when that happens) or was this some error on the site's/internet's/my device's end? This is not still occurring on my Chromebook at the moment...

Thanks!

Flaged for having nothing to do with the site.
Did ya read the post?
M8, this is similar to the 500 error question, especially since it has only ever happened to me on this site :P

Yes this was my doing. I was running some server maintenance and upgrades (which took longer than expected) so the site was down. We use a "content delivery network" service which will show an old copy of the page when the site is down, so you can still view things. But you can't do anything on the site like answering/commenting, just view things.

However the error pages are pretty useless for visitors so I'll look into customising them so it's clearer what the problem is.

No worries, apologies for the downtime.
