Why are the chat messages sometimes blank?

Sometimes in the chat, some messages are blank. Here is an example:

Why are messages sometimes blank? Does this happen to anybody else? Is there a reason for this?

Are you sure they're not using invisible letters?

These are invisible letters. You're not able to send empty chat posts -- you get an error message. However, you can replicate the effect by using invisible letters, which can be easily looked up on the internet. DB accepts these as characters, so your chat messages gives the appearance of being completely empty.
