Meta-PokéBase Q&A

I made this thread to gather input on hypothetical "guide questions". These would be comprehensive guides to certain aspects of the game(s), for example:

  • What is the most efficient way to complete your Pokedex in x game?
  • Which Pokemon and strategies are the best to defeat Cynthia in BDSP?
  • How can I quickly grind money in x game?

So on and so forth.

Why would these be helpful?
Guide questions would be written by experienced users that know a lot about the subject they're writing in -- for example, we wouldn't want you to write the guide on completing your Alola Pokedex if you've never gotten past Melemele Island. If we wanted these guides to be formal and cohesive, a tag along the lines of msq and crq could be added -- possibly something like gql for "Guide Question List"?

Why would they need to be formal?
We already have an abundance of questions that ask for the best strategies for x Gym Leader (and others in the same vein), but many answers aren't the best. We could repurpose high-traffic old questions and designate them as guide questions (with the accompanying tag and a higher-quality answer), to make them more helpful.

Please weigh in with your thoughts -- I'd love to know if we should start coming up with clearer rules for these! As I said, the concept is still fairly young, so nothing has been set in stone (or decided at all), so if you disagree with anything, feel free to say it.

I’d love this. I’d do oak challenges guides lol
There are already a lot of helpful guides on other Pokemon fansites, so I think we should write a guide about a certain topic only if...
We can't find any guides about the topic on other fansites.
All currently existing guides about the topic are somehow unhelpful or flawed, AND they are not wikis.
I don't see why we can't have the same content as other websites.

My main critiques of this idea (which I talked about on walls, might as well say them here) are:
* There are many guide questions already -- "what's the best way to do x" is a broad category. These deserve expert answers whether or not they have a special tag (and I'm not entirely comfortable with having a tag that basically says "we endorse these answers, good luck with the others I guess").
* We could use https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/meta/79605 to fix old threads -- maybe BA an answer with a collection of guide threads.
* "Contrived" questions are allowed per https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/meta/63239 , so in effect, the suggestion is already effective (aside from the tag). I think new, expert-written guide questions (plus other content) would come naturally if we just promoted the idea in that post.
