Why do the gen 10 starters have “???” As their national number when we can easily predict it?

I mean do to the order of the pokedex we can see that the last gen 9 Pokémon is Pecharunt at 1025, meaning the grass starter, browt, should be put as 1026, putting its evos at 1027 and 1028, with pombon at 1029, before finnaly putting gequa at 1032. So why the “???”?

even if victini didn't exist, there's really no reason to have the information early. i don't think it's useful enough to be worth predicting even if we can be 99% sure what they'll be

Pokemaster won't answer this, so:

1. History shows the starters don't always take the next nine dex numbers (see Gen 5 & Victini)

2. Predicting info this way would be a bad habit, and wouldn't benefit anyone in this instance
