Pokémon Rate My Team

Hai, VSV here.(You don't need to know what that means ;>). Well I have been testing this new team for quite awhile now and honestly, this is the team of which I am most proud of mainly because it is featuring a mega of my most preferred type, Blastoise. Blastoise is a very underestimated mega mainly because it is often thought to be outclassed by other spinners such as Excadrill, who doesn't take in a megaslot while being a great offensive spinner but one should not compare Excadrill to Mega Blastoise because the power gap, is huge.
Anyways, I have laddered decently with this team and I am currently 42-11 with a 1705 rating on the PS! ladder so the team must be doing something good I guess.

Blastoise-Mega (M) @ Blastoisinite

enter image description here
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 184 HP / 252 SAtk / 72 Spd
Modest Nature

  • Hydro Pump
  • Aura Sphere
  • Dark Pulse
  • Rapid Spin

Going to keep it very short here. Hydro Pump over Water Pulse because I can't miss out on the power of this beast. Hydro Pump pretty much 2HKOs nigh everything in the OU tier, so hands down. Aura Sphere is here because firstly, I detest Ferrothorn and Aura Sphere will be doing some severe damage to even Specially Defensive variants. And like Dark Pulse who is here to hit Psychic and Ghost types for some good damage and hit everything else for some neutral damage. Again, there are a few Pokemon that can actually avoid a 2HKO from any of these moves. Lasty Rapid Spin because as you may have noticed, I do carry some SR weak Pokemon on this team who do need a clean field to function well.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers

enter image description here
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 232 Def / 28 Spd
Adamant Nature

  • Earthquake
  • Stone Edge
  • U-turn
  • Stealth Rock

I needed something to rake some Banded Talonflame attacks and to handle many other physically offensive Pokemon as well as some hazards on this team so I decided to slap on Landorus-T who functions just as I needed him to function. Other than the EV spread, this is a very standard offensive pivot Landorus-T. I added a little more speed EVs over the standard 12 because I do like to outpace every Rotom-W not running 44 Speed IVs as well as U-turn before other Landorus-T that aren't running the standard gen 5 set with 88 Speed EVs.

Talonflame (M) @ Choice Band

enter image description here
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spd
Adamant Nature

  • Brave Bird
  • Flare Blitz
  • U-turn
  • Sleep Talk

Talonflame oh Talonflame. What a powerhouse this thing is. My prime answer to Mega Pinsir as well as the main Pokemon I use to dent everything with. I run 224 Speed EVs over 208 to not only outpace Mega Pinsir but other Talonflame as well by a decent amount as well as retaining an odd HP number to take minimal damage from Stealth Rock damage. Other than this, a very standard Banded Talonflame set with the extra asset of Sleep Talk, making Talonflame my sleep absorber, prime Mega Venusaur answer and great revenge killer forming a decent VolTurn trio with Landorus-T and Thundurus-T .

Kyurem-Black @ Leftovers

enter image description here
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 56 HP / 200 SAtk / 252 Spd
Mild Nature

  • Substitute
  • Fusion Bolt
  • Ice Beam
  • Earth Power

SubKyurem-B is the terror of the current OU metagame, mainly because behind a sub, its main 2 checks are Scizor and its Mega evo and Conkeldurr. Well, there isn't much to say about this set either because we have all seen/used it before. I am running Mild over Naive so that I don't miss out on a 2HKO on other Kyurem-B. 252 Speed EVs are to outpace other Mild/Rash variants running 236 Speed EVs.

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf

enter image description here
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 64 HP / 252 SAtk / 192 Spd
Modest Nature

  • Thunderbolt
  • Volt Switch
  • Focus Blast
  • Hidden Power [Ice]

kso, I am not demented and I am very aware that this isn't a Thundurus-I, which tbh, I have come to realize finds a lot of difficulties defeating this variant. Modest Scarf Thundurus-T is a monster and incredible revenge killer people should not underestimate. It dents many things in the tier as well as perform as a great scout and revenge killer. The EV spread is to avoid a KO from Garchomp's Outrage, diminish the chance of being KO'd by a Banded Mamoswine's Ice Shard, avoid a possible KO from a Garchomp's Stone Edge while still being to kill it with HP Ice(Only at full health). The rest was thrown into speed and SAtk. The Speed EVs allow it to outpace the entire unboosted tier barring MegaZam, Mega Aero and Deoxy-S, meaning that it averagely outpaces all base 145 Pokemon by 2 points.

Conkeldurr (M) @ Assault Vest

enter image description here
Ability: Guts
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 12 Def / 244 SDef
Adamant Nature

  • Knock Off
  • Ice Punch
  • Drain Punch
  • Mach Punch

Kso, I did notice that like all teams are nearly always weak to SubKyurem-B, mine was seeming to be weak to it as well whenever I played relentlessly, so I slapped a standard AV Conkeldurr on it as a finish touch because why not. Since then Conkeldurr has been an amazing asset to this team and a semi-special absorber.

VSV is my name for you >:C
you forgot to mention that dark pulse is also for spin blockers, But you don't need to, I'm just sayin :)
You're team is pretty neat, there is really nothing to improve on. But to be honest I think you should run poison jab on your Conkeldurr instead of ice punch. This is mainly because none of your Pokemon have either poison or steel type moves, leaving you team prone to fairy types, and also because a third of your team (not including Conkeldurr) already have ice-type moves anyway, so it wouldn't hurt to slap poison jab onto Conkeldurr.

Just sayin' :)

As to respond to the above post for Valet, Ice Punch is actually the better of the Two. First, Conk isn't beating Azumarill, the only thing it would need Poison Jab for. Ice Punch provides the best coverage in OU, and also allows Conk to demolish Flyings that'll annoy it, and Banded Dragonites. Ice Punch also provides Poison Jab's coverage, except guarding against Fairy. Plus he has Talon to beat the Fairies he can't like Azu, Mawile and Sylveon.
With his current set:
480 Super Effective
292 Normal Effectiveness
2 Not Very Effective

With Poison Jab:
389 Super Effective
383 Normal Effectiveness
2 Not Very Effective

So he doesn't get any extra coverage, and actually loses out on type advantage. And as Mike said he shouldn't be staying in on most fairies anyway.
