I think darkrai is banned in vgc this year but i will definitely take these into consideration
I think the biggest problem here is that you're not using the best Pokemon. Why would you use Houndoom when Charizard does the same thing but better? Why would you use Feraligatr when Ludicolo does the same thing but better? Why would you use Goodra when Salamence does the same thing but better?
Well I picked mega houndoom because under sunny day he can take most health from charizard y and ohko a lando t ( no assault vest) and sheer force feraligatr because he can take on most bulky water Pokémon can take on threats ludicolo can’t take on such as mega Salamance amoongus zapdos amd volcarona goodra was just kind of improvising and I will tale salamance into high consideration
I was curious how much of the team you wanted to leave? An early regional I used a whimsicott-Mega doom team if you're interested? It is a similar team build but has a few differences.

I'd post it as an answer if you want?
My initial thoughts:

1) I like the Mega-Houndoom-Whimsicott core. But it such a specific core, that you need to add another element to this core. I will show you what I mean in my answer. This will be the most important change if you want success in the tournament.

2) I don't like the Bulu here. Because we are sticking with Whimsicott, you absolutely cannot another Grass-Fairy type. However having terrain control is becoming increasing important in the meta game, so I will suggest another Pokemon to fill this role.

3) Umbreon has no place in modern day VGC. It is truly deadweight on your team imo. There are scores of Pokemon that do all of its functions better, but I do have a replacement in mind.

4) Goodra is good in niche situations. But the majority of the time- it is outclassed by the other more common dragons. I would recommend a switch here, and I have another one in mind.

5) Aww Feraligatr. I ran a Feraligatr on my 2015 VGC nationals team and loved it. Really added an excellent element of surprise to the team. I ran Waterfall/Ice Punch/Rock Slide/Protect. Low Kick doesn't take advantage of the Sheer Force + Life Orb combo like Rock Slide does, and it is nice for spread damage. This guy hits like a truck, and honestly that 2015 team is one of my all-time favorites. In the answer I would recommend replacing him with another that I would propose, but making that switch wouldn't be that necessary. Overall, I think Fini would fit a lot better here. But it wouldn't be the end of the world if you stuck with the gator.
Yeah feraligatr takes them all by surprise and wrecks most and even holds his own against grass typing well physical grass at least but yeah goodra amd bulu were the last minute answers but I would be more then welcome to the changes umbreon was jus really good on my last team so I thought I should keep him but I just really want to keep whims doom and gator they have done the most for my team and I’ve gone 5 in a row with just them I’m just running out of options at this point thoug I have tried many options some that would work really good for a while but then the it wouldn’t last I was running life orb ambipom for a bit to but yeah didn’t last so I would really like to hear your answers by the way I’m not really fond of the tapus or any other legendary/ub just the meta forces them on you but I’ll be up for a while and will be training my pokes and getting them already tonight so yeah I’ll be really happy for your advice

I don't know if you saw my comments, but I am really excited to do this rate. I have had a lot of similar ideas in the past, and it'll be awesome to show you how I think you could best combine them. I used a Mega-Houndoom team in a tournament a few weeks ago, and I'd really like to share that team with you because I think you could pull ideas from it, and really form your own take on the team.

The Rate (changes will be in bold)

Houndoom-Mega @ Houndoominite
Ability: Flash Fire
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heat Wave
- Dark Pulse
- Solar Beam
- Protect

This looks good. Just make sure to use timid. Houndooms biggest asset over Zard-Y is his speed, make sure to take advantage of it.

Whimsicott @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Beat up
- Tailwind
- Taunt
- Sunny Day

I added the tech of Beat up onto this whimiscott, it will be more obvious why later. I wouldn't worry about not having an attacking move. Even with Moonblast it isn't doing much damage, and Whim is faster than most Taunt user, so you have to taunt them first. Rest of set is explanatory.

Lucario @ Lucarionite
Ability: Justified --> Adaptability
Level: 50
EVs: 12 HP / 252 Atk / 244 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Drain Punch
- Blaze Kick
- Protect

This the big change on the team. Practically no one knows that Lucario's hidden ability is Justified (same as Terrakion) this can raise his attack 4 stages before he goes mega. Once he is mega, Bullet Punch is base power 80 (because of Adaptability) and has priority. Drain Punch has 150 base power and provides healing. Blaze Kick is coverage, and can be powered up by a Sunny Day. Protect is obvious.

This was the key change to the core I was talking about earlier. Lucario and Houndoom compliment each other well. When people see Houndoom, they'll expect the Mega form, so you can catch them by surprise with the Mega-Lucario. You can surprise people 2 fold when you use the never seen justified form.

Aegislash @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Stance Change
Level: 50
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Spa / 68 Spe
Mild Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Shadow Sneak
- Kings Shield

Fairly standard Aegislash. Is your new z-move user, and a good replacement for Umbreon. Its an excellent pivot between defense and offense with its two different stances. This is a relatively fast Aegislash to beat other Aegislash, Cresselia, and Gothitelle- as well as taking advantage of a tailwind more. I also opted for Shadow Sneak as a stealthly option to pick up surprise KOs.

Tapu Fini @ Mago Berry
Ability: Misty Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 236 HP / 148 Def / 76 Spa/ 4 Spd/ 44 Spe
Calm Nature
- Muddy Water
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
- Protect

Your new Tapu, which allows you to get control of terrain war. This is a calm mind set, so if Fini is in a situation where neither Pokemon can do a lot of damage, or if you predict a switch/protect, Calm Minding can really put yourself in a pretty optimal situation for the rest of the game. Muddy Water and Moonblast are standard. EV spread and the pinch berry for Longevity. I think Fini is a better fit on the team, but if you wanted to sub in Feraligatr it could probably work (just wouldn't run as smoothly).

Hydreigon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 60 HP / 180 Def / 132 SpA / 4 SpD / 132 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Dark Pulse
- Heat Wave
- Draco Meteor

The new dragon on the team. A bulky Hydreigon set with specs is the optimal set to take advantage of Tailwind. Move set is fairly standard except I opt for Heat Wave over Flamethrower for the spread damage that can be powered up in the sun.

I hope you like the new team, and I really hope that the major changes are okay with you. I just saw a lot of potential with the team, and I really wanted to optimize the battling strategy to its strengths.

Let me know how you feel and if there is anything else you want suggestions on. Thanks!

I really like this idea actually I was worried about two megas but I can see where it will work out and the balance of steel and dark types make me less worried about fairies I’m going to test it on showdown right now and tell you my reaulta
Yeah for sure. Let me know
But aegislash works better with
Aegislash @ghostinium z
252attack 252 defense 4HP
Nature adamant
Swords dance
Kings sheild
Sacred sword
Shadow sneak
I don't think so personally. Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon are absolute staples on any VGC Aegislash
