Mega sceptile ohko's a lot of important mons in the ou tier. Also serves as a soft check to DD+Sub Zygarde. Puts a lot of offensive pressure once certain pokemon are taken out of the game.
252 SpA Sceptile-Mega Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Greninja-Ash: 612-720 (214.7 - 252.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Sceptile-Mega Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Medicham-Mega: 264-312 (101.1 - 119.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Sceptile-Mega Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Lopunny-Mega: 237-280 (87.4 - 103.3%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Sceptile-Mega Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 291-343 (103.5 - 122%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Sceptile-Mega Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mimikyu: 220-259 (87.6 - 103.1%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Sceptile-Mega Leaf Storm vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Tapu Fini: 368-434 (107.2 - 126.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Hoopa breaks through teams with its absurd base attack plus band. Not many mons can take a banded hyperspace fury. Hoopa opens up the game for your team. It is important to get rocks up, as it secures a couple of ohko's on some mons.

Zapdos is a nice compliment to Gastrodon and vice versa. Zapdos is your main defogger and counters many physical attackers in the ou metagame such as Kartana, Hawlucha, scizor, mega pinsir and mega lopunny.

Gastrodon takes on many specially defensive mons quite well, notably magearna, greninja, tapu koko, and to some extent tapu lele.

Jirachi is your main pivot switch and counters tapu lele. This is good because i absolutely despise tapu lele and it breaks through this team.

Mamo is your rocker and its dual stab hits literally everything in the tier. Utilizes the z really well as you usually severely weaken or ko mons with a neutral hit + tectonic rage. Also opens up the game for your sceptile/hoopa/mamo.

This team unfortunately does not deal with volcarona really well. The mons on this team have a lot of potential to break through any team if you can get a key ko. You can use your mons aggressively to make the game easier for you and use jirachi healing wish to heal up. Jirachi is the glue of this team however, and you'll use it a lot, so keep it healthy and don't healing wish unless there are no drawbacks or its the best play.

Replace Sceptile and Gastrodon with Kartana for better defensive typing and not using up the mega slot and Rotom for defog and volt switch. Replace Zapdos's toxic with heat wave to cover grass. Give Jirachi a leftovers and 248 HP/4 Def/252 SpD careful for more bulk. Replace Jirachi's healing wish and ice punch with wish and protect to heal. Give Mamoswine a metronome to sweep better.

Heart Stamp over Ice Punch on Jirachi for an essential Psychic STAB with 60% chance to flinch, whereas Ice Punch only has a 20% chance to freeze, isn't STAB, and just not as easily spammable as Heart Stamp. I know Dark Types, especially ones that can predict the switch can easily set up (Ex. Bisharp) but it's a small price to pay for the extra damage. Thanks to Bottle Caps, you no longer need to limit your IVs due to your pokemon having the right hidden power, so you can put 31 EVs in Atk on Sceptile-Mega. Also, because you're running mixed Sceptile-Mega, go for 4 Atk EVs instead of 4 Def EVs. Rocky Helmet on Zapdos is better then Leftovers to not only tank physical hits, but punish physical attackers as well, especially spinners like Excadrill. Also, your team doesn't have any setup moves at all, unless you count Mamoswine's S Rocks. Mamoswine offers Ice Coverage, S Rocks, a powerful Z-Move, and excellent attack, but only decent speed. Although Excadrill does not offer Ice Coverage, he offers Steel Coverage, better speed, and Rapid Spin at the cost of Mamoswine's priority and Mamoswine's Ice Coverage. i think Excadrill adds more to your team then Mamoswine, and if you do decide to add him here's the smogon suggested set:
Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker
Jolly Nature
252 Atk/252 Spe/4 Def
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rocks
- Toxic
Toxic is a bit strange, but it's to hit Sabalye-Mega apparently. I prefer Iron Head to hit Fairy Types like Clefable, but smogon knows best.

The problems I have with Excadrill is that Mamo imo is a better lead and threatens more pokemon with its coverage as almost nothing resists its dual stab. More specifically it deals with a Landorus better than Excadrill does. I do see that I lack strong speed control and that perhaps a faster pokemon might help out though.
toxic cant be used as a mega sabalye counter due to mega sabalye having magic bounce which bounces it back. and anyway mamo does better overall with stealth rocks priority and swords dance
Heart stamp doesn't cover much that iron head doesn't cover already, so I don't think it's worth a move slot.
Excadrill has mold breaker.
