Hello, im new to competitive pokemon and need some help, I have learnt the basics from the internet and have had a go at making a hyper offensive team for gen 7 OU around hawlucha, i have been able to get thourgh the low leaderborad but need some help to get past the lower parts of the leaderborad this is my first team and would like some help on improving it.
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Explosion
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Zen Headbutt
Azelf is my Suicide lead, i either taunt or uses stealth rocks, after im done Azelf explodes to cause momentum. I sometime switch out incase my opponent have a ash greninja with battle bond or any pokemon with abilities like moxie and beast boost.

Ability: Blaze
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
The Moveset is simple and copied of smogon, i prefer flamethrower because it is more realible, roost incase of rock damage, solar beam for water types and focus blast for tyranitar.
Tapu Bulu @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
Another set off of smogon i use my z move to do some heavy damage if needed, swords dance for setup and horn leech for stab. im not sure if i should have terrain extender for hawlucha.
Hawlucha @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Roost
I have grassy seed on hawlucha for extra defense from tapa bulu, roost for healing, acrobatics and high jump kick for stab and U-turn for switching out.
Zeraora @ Choice Band
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Serious Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Brick Break
- Fire Punch
- Knock Off
Zeraora is my cleaner/ revenge killer, im not sure what to do with the move set yet, but i have plasma fists for stab and brick break to predict a switch into a ground type.
Gengar @ Choice Specs
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Trick
Gengar is another cleaner for my team, i have shadow ball and sludge wave for stab and trick in case i have to swap items.
Please tell me how i can improve this team, if i need to swap pokemon or sets tell me what i can repalce them with. if i have done the entire team tell me how i can make a better team, thank you.
