Tyranitar-Mega @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Protect
Mega Tyranitar is the mega of choice for this team. The team wasn't originally built around it, as initially I used Mega Salamence in combination with Milotic, Celesteela, and Zeroara because it seemed like a strong core in my testing. I ended up choosing Mega TTar over Salamence because of them both filling the same role as Dragon Dance set ups, except with Tyranitar having STAB Rock Slide to hit both opponents with the high flinch chance instead of just picking up single target OHKOs, synergising well with Milotic to deter Intimidate, but also the utility of both Sand Stream providing chip damage to assist Celesteela stall if necessary and it being much less specially frail. This set has done well so far, with 252+ speed outspeeding base 130 Pokemon after a Dragon Dance with max attack boosting powerful Rock Slides.
Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 124 Atk / 56 Def / 76 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Heavy Slam
- Leech Seed
- Protect
Celesteela I've found to be very good in this format. I initially tried running a terrain seed + Acrobatics over Substitute, but since I rarely clicked Acrobatics I decided that Substitute+Leftovers would be better. It can stall bulkier threats with Leech Seed as well as output good damage with Heavy Slam which is almost always 120BP against most mons and can OHKO things like Tapu Lele.
Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 1 Atk
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Dazzling Gleam
I first tried Zeroara in this slot, but I decided I needed more special offense. I do miss having Volt Absorb and Fake Out, but the better special damage (due to ETerrain boosting Koko hugely) as well as terrain control is what I decided on. In some ways I would prefer Zeroara, but I did want a Tapu on the team and none of the others seemed to fit in great (Tapu Lele was bad here because of preventing me from using Fake Out on opponents). Still debating whether I should go back to Zeroara here.
Togekiss @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 52 SpA / 36 SpD / 72 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tailwind
- Air Slash
- Follow Me
- Protect
I tried a few Pokemon in this slot, and decided Togekiss was a good fit. It's a pretty good Tyranitar partner as it can use Follow Me to help it set up Dragon Dance as well as hitting the Grass types like Tapu Bulu that threaten Tyranitar. Air Slash with Serene Grace under Tailwind is great for flinching, especially when paired with Rock Slide making it nearly impossible for opponents to move. The EV spread is trained to be bulky, outspeed everything in Tailwind and hit decently hard.
Milotic @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 196 HP / 56 Def / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Protect
- Icy Wind
- Recover
Milotic is another great Pokemon on this team. It deters Intimidate on Tyranitar by the threat of getting a Competitive boost, letting it output huge damage after a stat is dropped to activate the boost. Recover and Aguav Berry let it stay on the field for ages and consistently do decent damage. Currently I'm running Icy Wind for speed control but I've considered Hidden Power Fire to damage things like Ferrothorn.
Incineroar @ Incinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Atk / 16 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Darkest Lariat
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
Incineroar, one of the greatest doubles Pokemon of all time. I'm using an offensive set with Incinium Z which has been pretty good to take surprise KOs, and I often get Knock Off clicked on me by opposing Incineroar which renders their move almost useless. Intimidate+Fake Out+U-Turn is an amazing combination.
