Here's my team:

Moltres-Galar @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Berserk
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Nasty Plot
- Fiery Wrath
- Hurricane

Main sweeper, first turn I substitute, next I nasty plot, finally if I'm still high health I tera dark and spam fiery wrath. Sound based moves are a problem tho

Whimsicott @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tailwind
- Encore
- Fake Tears
- Helping Hand

Sets up tailwind, encores fake out users or tailwind/trick room kinda thing. Fake tears really bulky Pokemon so that they cant be a threat to moltres and helping hand just for some extra damage

Okidogi @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guard Dog
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Atk / 140 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch

coverage for like 11/18 types I think and is just a great bulky attacker who can cook everyone. just realized while editing this is has 0 attack ivs idk why I did that I was sleepy when I made this team. just good support

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heat Wave
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Protect

more coverage and a secondary attacker if moltres goes down

Rotom-Wash @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

yet again more coverage and support

Incineroar @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SpD
Careful Nature
- Fake Out
- Flare Blitz
- Parting Shot
- Knock Off

guess what, more support just a standard bulky incineroar I just spam switch it out to get as much intimidate and stuff

A few issues I see are:

That I only have one tailwind setter, but I couldn't find another tailwind setter who would work on this team, and I feel like every Pokemon here is important.

EVs might be bad. I was trying to make sure everything was bulky enough to survive and support while Moltres sets up.

Maybe better secondary attacker options? If Moltres goes down, I have heatran, rotom wash, and okidogi, as well as incineroar, but he's not that good with his evs. Although they kinda cover everything, I bet there's better options.

Moltres takes a long time to set up. I usually start turn 1 by sending out whimsicott and Moltres and tailwind and substitute. Next turn I either encore an opponent if they use fake out or trick room or something or fake tears a bulky Pokemon or switch out, and then nasty plot on Moltres. Finally third turn I usually helping hand if whimsicott is still in or attack with other Pokemon that might be in and terastalize dark and fiery wrath it usually kills pretty much everything.

I don't know how to improve this team so I'm looking for help from pros.

I'm about 1260 elo on Pokemon showdown in DOU.

@appledrapeau1402 hope this helps

I haven’t played dou before so I can’t make a full rate but there are some small changes I’d suggest. On moltres drop substitute because it’s seems kinda over kill for setup and instead use protect change the item to life orb for a damage boost. On whimsicott I’d suggest dropping helping hand or fake tears for protect so you don’t lose sash to fake out users
Can you add a description for each of your mons as per rule 2.1? I understand the strat with whimsicott and moltres but there's not much context on the other pokemon. Like this, I can try to upgrade the team much more. Thanks!
yeah ill add some description give me a bit of time and hopefully it can help. @r-the-great i will probably drop fake tears but i think that sitrus berry might be better just because if it gets low and beserk activates then i can just heal up to about half, and if i get low again another beserk boost.
Oh yeah that totally makes sense. I kinda forgot berserker was a ability lol
@appledrapeau1402 gave descs
If sound moves are an issue, maybe Throat Chop on Incineroar over Knock Off could help, although Knock Off could still be better.
thats abt good enough, ty! will post answer shortly
k thanks

Hello there! Sry if I kept you waiting!

This answer will give you an analyze of the changed team and playstyle, which includes:

  • explanations on each member
  • a guide on how to use the team effectively
  • replays showcasing the team and some important damage calcs

I want to start by saying that your Galarian Moltres core features a Hyper-Offense structure, so the rest of the team will be built around that idea as well, which means replacing some (2/3) of the team. In this way, the team is going to have much better synergy than before, since all the pokemon play an active role with the team structure.

Anyways, here we go!

Moltres-Galar:

Replace substitute with protect; it's better in every way, since it protects Moltres way better than substitute, and Substitute really isn't reliable enough since you can get double targeted. Air slash is better than Hurricane because Hurricane can miss. Other than that, you are good to go!

Moltres-Galar @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Berserk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fiery Wrath
- Air Slash
- Protect

Whimsicott:

Whimsicott is almost always better with covert cloak since it stops fake out. Add moonblast for a damaging option to replace fake tears or helping hand.

Whimsicott @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Tera Type: Dark
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Tailwind
- Encore
- Helping Hand
The 20 speed EV'S help outspeed timid Glimmora and non speed boosting nature Chi-Yu

Okidogi --> Sneasler

I decided to replace Okidogi with another poison/fighting type that fits the team style better... Sneasler! Sneasler provides a form of speed control outside of tailwind to provide good damage and coverage for the team.

Sneasler @ Psychic Seed
Ability: Unburden
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Dire Claw
- Throat Chop
- Protect
Psychic seed activates immediately in psychic terrain, giving Sneasler a nice special defense boost and immediate activation of unburden. Close combat is STAB, Dire Claw is a broken move, Throat chop to hit ghost and psychic types, and protect to keep it safe. Tera Dark gives immunity to psychic moves and gives throat chop a power boost.

Incineroar --> Indeedee

Incineroar is undoubtly one of the best pokemon in DOU, but it doesn't shine in Hyper offense. That's why I brought another support mon, Indeedee-F! This mon offers redirection with follow me, damage boost with helping hand, and with psychic terrain, it stops priority moves like fake out, thunderclap and sucker punch, all of which is terrible for the team.

Indeedee-F @ Safety Goggles / Sitrus Berry
Ability: Psychic Surge
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect / Trick room
- Helping Hand
- Psychic
- Follow Me
Protect keeps it safe, Helping hand boosts ally damage, psychic is STAB boosted by terrain, and Follow me for redirection. Safety goggles makes it immune to spore so redirection wouldn't be a problem, but sitrus berry helps Indeedee heal and potentially get off more support. Tera Fairy gets rid of dark and bug weakness. Trick Room allows Indeedee to reverse Trick room from hard Trick room teams that this team would otherwise struggle with, but it's sort of conditional, so up to you.

Rotom-Wash --> Ogerpon-Wellspring

Rotom-Wash just isn't very good in DOU, and there is a much better Water type that is terrorising the format right now... Ogerpon wellspring!

Ogerpon-Wellspring (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 200 HP / 124 Atk / 184 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ivy Cudgel
- Horn Leech
- Follow Me
- Spiky Shield
Once again, another redirector that provides great coverage. Ivy Cudgel is STAB, Horn Leech is STAB that provides recovery, Follow me for redirection, and Spiky Shield to keep it safe. The EV spread allows Ogerpon to outspeed max speed Jolly Landorus by 1 point, with the rest going into bulk and attack.

Heatran --> Gholdengo

Heatran is only good on bulky offense teams, so I replaced it with Gholdengo, another steel type that functions better on hyper offense, and gives the team another setup sweeper and option under tailwind when Moltres isn't desirable as a lead.

Gholdengo @ Metal Coat
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Dragon / Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 40 Def / 112 SpA / 24 SpD / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Nasty Plot
- Make It Rain
- Shadow Ball / Dazzling gleam
Protect keeps Gholdengo safe, Nasty plot for setup, Make It Rain is a powerful STAB Spread move, Shadow ball for more consistent damage, while Dazzling Gleam hits opposing dark types for super effective damage and incineroar for neutral damage. Tera fairy should be used if you are running Dazzling gleam, but tera dragon gives resistance against fire types and other common offensive types.

How to use the team

The idea behind this team is speed control + setup to clean out the opponent's team, and redirection support to help this team's setup pokemon to function. For example, a common lead for this team would be Whimsicott + Moltres-Galar, which includes speed control and a setup sweeper to power through, taking advantage of the tailwind. If tailwind is not available, your other option is redirection + damage, which means using a follow me pokemon to keep a setup sweeper safe, while the sweeper does it's job. Taking out this team's late game cleaners is key during midgame as well, so you won't have a hard time breaking through during endgame.

Replays from my alt acc (atmospheresrfdcvpw, so you will need to switch viewpoints to see the battle from my perspective), rated at around 1400 elo:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9doublesou-2621130991

  • Identifying threats is very important as well, which is why I decided to take Gholdengo, a problematic setup sweeper with spread that ignores redirection down first, even if it means using an unconventional way (in this case, Helping hand Tera dark throat chop)
  • As I mentioned, taking out threats that hinder the team's late game cleaning is key during midgame, and in this case, Arcanine-Hisui hits both Moltres and Gholdengo, Ogerpon came in to do the job.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9doublesou-2621144551

  • even one turn of speed control can mean a complete advantage, as shown.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9doublesou-2621149650

  • Protect is important when speed control is lacking. Try to take out key threats.

Calcs

-1 252+ Atk Sneasler Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 96 Def Incineroar: 284-336 (72 - 85.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Tera Dark Sneasler Throat Chop vs. 252 HP / 76 Def Sinistcha: 254-302 (73.4 - 87.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Tera Dark Sneasler Throat Chop vs. 248 HP / 40 Def Gholdengo: 288-342 (76.3 - 90.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Even after intimidate, Sneasler still does a stupid amount of damage to Incineroar. All of the attacks above can be made to OHKO with helping hand.

0 SpA Indeedee-F Psychic vs. 196 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Okidogi in Psychic Terrain: 372-436 (101.6 - 119.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

No special attack investment Indeedee picks up a KO on AV Okidogi with no special defense investment, thanks to the terrain.

+2 192+ SpA Tera Dark Moltres-Galar Fiery Wrath vs. 240 HP / 136+ SpD Cresselia: 476-560 (107.9 - 126.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

You will need to set up Moltres-Galar once then tera dark to OHKO Cresselia.

124 Atk Wellspring Mask Ogerpon-Wellspring Ivy Cudgel vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Landorus: 366-432 (114.7 - 135.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Ogerpon-W outspeeds lando and OHKO's it with Ivy Cudgel. If intimidated, you will need to tera water for the OHKO.

124 Atk Wellspring Mask Tera Water Ogerpon-Wellspring-Tera Ivy Cudgel vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Ursaluna: 428-508 (92.4 - 109.7%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO (93.8% chance to OHKO after burn damage)

124 Atk Wellspring Mask Tera Water Ogerpon-Wellspring-Tera Ivy Cudgel vs. 108 HP / 0 Def Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: 384-456 (97.4 - 115.7%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

Tera Ogerpon has a very good chance to OHKO the Ursaluna formes with Ivy Cudgel.

0 SpA Whimsicott Moonblast vs. 152 HP / 0 SpD Roaring Moon: 328-388 (84.3 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Whimsicott will come close, but never OHKO Roaring Moon with Moonblast

Notes:

  • Having a Damage Calculator helps a ton, as it can help you make correct plays depending on if a move will KO or not.
