Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours

Since 2020 a recurring weekly event has taken place, where a particular Pokémon species appears much more frequently in the wild for an hour, and various bonuses such as double stardust are present. It began as two events - boosted Pokémon spawns on Tuesdays and the bonus on Thursdays (known as Mystery Bonus Hour) but was soon combined into one.

Until March 2026 the event took place every Tuesday from 6pm-7pm local time, and usually featured one of five rotating bonuses for the hour. Since March 2026 they no longer occur every week, but instead as part of certain events (usually without bonuses). With the Pokémon spawns being heavily boosted, it can be a great opportunity to collect more candy, shiny hunt, or if bonuses are present to earn extra stardust or XP.
