How do you get Starters with hidden abilities?

Question

Several websites say that the way to get a Pokemon with its hidden ability is to find it using dexnav. As you find them more times in a row, the chance that they have a hidden ability also rises. If it has the hidden ability, an exclamation mark appears next to the ability.

But how to you get starters with hidden abilities? eg :snivy with contrary, froakie with protean, chespin with bulletproof...

Since you can't catch any of them in the wild, how do you get them???

You can catch the Kalos and Kanto starters with their Hidden Abilities in X/Y and OR/AS in the Friend Safari. The other starters with their Hidden Abilities are event-exclusive, and the Gen VII starters' Hidden Abilities aren't available at all at the moment.

There are a variety of methods to get starters with hidden abilities.

The Kalos and Kanto starters can be found in Friend Safaris with their hidden abilities in XY.

Kanto and Johto starters transferred from the Virtual Console versions of RBY and GSC always will have their hidden abilities.

Hoenn and Kanto starters can be found with their hidden abilities in Dynamax Adventures in the Crown Tundra DLC of SwSh. Note for Hoenn, only the fully evolved starters are found with their hidden abilities; the middle evolutions have their original abilities

Sinnoh starters can be obtained with their hidden abilities by transferring any Pokemon from BDSP to Pokemon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift in the mobile version of Home.

Galarian starters can be obtained with their hidden abilities by transferring any Pokemon from SwSh to Pokemon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift in the mobile version of Home.

Paldean starters can be obtained with their hidden abilities by transferring any Pokemon from SV to Pokemon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift in the mobile version of Home.

Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott can be obtained with their hidden abilities by transferring any Pokemon from Legends: Arceus to Pokemon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift in the mobile version of Home.

Unfortunately, Alolan and the other two Unovan starters are only currently available in past events. You can try to find one in r/pokemontrades on Reddit, or find one on the GTS of Home or an older game.
