Can a float stone help with resistance to Earthquake?

I gave my Zekrom a float stone in Alpha Sapphire, and it was able to tank an earthquake. I would like to know if other electric types can use this to their advantage or was it a coincidence that Zekrom took an earthquake.

Coincidence? I think not. Zekrom does have a pretty wild Defense stat, just saying.

No, I think Zekrom was just able to tank because of its base 120 defense. Float stone only helps halve weight.
