So this was in a link single battle, so everyone was the same level. (50) My friend had Primarina in, and my Articuno used Mind Reader. Primarina switched out to a Groudon that had already gone primal earlier in the battle. Desolate land activated, and then Articuno used Sheer Cold. But it said that "Groudon avoided the attack." Groudon proceeded to kill Articuno, winning the battle. So if Mind Reader was used, and they were the same level, how did Sheer Cold miss? Does it have something to do with the Desolate Land? Or can Sheer Cold not hit fire types?

The next move made by the user of this move against the target will not miss, even if the target uses a move with a semi-invulnerable turn like Fly. If the target switches out, the effect of Mind Reader wears off. This can be Baton Passed. Mind Reader does not allow the user to bypass protection moves.
