Something to counter Noivern?

Question

My friend and I often battle in USUM, and his Noivern effortlessly rips through my whole team (if his Mega Alakazam is already dead, who usually does that.) Its EVs are random (it's from his playthrough team,) and I know it has Hurricane, Super Fang, and will have Boomburst, he's training it to that level. I don't know the final moveslot, but it could be Roost. Is there any good counter to this Noivern set?

Since your rival's Noivern has Normal- and Flying-type moves in its moveset, I'd suggest using a Rock-, Steel-, or a Rock/Steel-type Pokémon (which resists those two types). Especially go for Rock, because Noivern is a part-Flying-type and is weak to it.

The Noivern can learn draco meteor, which hits rock Pokemon really hard, or heat wave, which hits steel Pokemon really hard. The two best options I can think of right now are Chansey and Heatran.

Carbink can sustain most of his moves and can work like a tank to defeat it using damage over time, with moves like toxic, rest, light screen, moonblast/stone edge. Item (chesto berry)  (rest will suport you when he use super fang alot) Also you'l not need to use rest more than two times, maybe even not more than one, cause your toxic, and moonblast/stone edge can take him down easily, noiver is not durable. But you should spend your EV in special def, HP.

The problem with Carbink is that checking Noivern is pretty much the only thing Carbink can do. If he used Chansey or Heatran, then he can check Noivern and do much else besides.

These are moves,Abilitys,Pokemon That can counter noivern

Ice Punch, Ice Beam, Ice Shard, Blizzard

Since these moves are ice type they counter noivern so well as well as these moves being able to take massive damage or one shot that pesky noivern your friend has so I suggest these moves to counter them.

Sound Proof Ability

This ability counters noiverns boomburst as in its a really strong move with 100 accuracy and isnt banned. so a Pokemon like kommo - o with a focus sash to survive noiverns hurricane will be a great counter to noivern as in kommo - o gets ice punch or clanging scales and like I said can COUNTER noivern.

Sylveon,Florges

Ill Explain Why These Fairy Types Can Counter Noivern So Good With Sylveon it hases good special defense and it can tank those boomburst that your friend can throw at you ant sylveon with 110 sp atk + moonblast very good combo. as well for florges I say florges is more of a wall to counter Noiverns Boomburst or coverage special moves wont do a thing to florges and florges isnt much of an SP attacker so its not gonna do AS much damage to noivern.

Mega Rayquaza

I Dont Think this Pokemon is much to counter noivern but if my information is correct mega ray is broken as HECK and with its moves being draco meteor,outrage,dragon claw,pulse are good moves that mega ray counters noivern with

Kommo-O won't work because it's weak to hurricane. Sylveon and Florges will work, but they aren't the best Pokemon to use because they check Noivern and don't do much else.

Florges and Sylveon are both outclassed by Tapu Fini, and there's no point in using soundproof when the soundproof Pokemon gets one-shot by another move. Why is a focus sash Kommo-O any better than a focus sash Garchomp?

Porygon2 can switch into any of Noivern's attacks, take another hit from any of Noivern's attacks, and OHKO it with ice beam.

Celesteela @ leftovers
Ability: beast boost
EVs: 244 HP / 4 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful nature
- leech seed
- heavy slam
- protect
- substitute
Celesteela can 2HKO Noivern with heavy slam while tanking its flamethrowers.

Heatran @ leftovers
Ability: flash fire
EVs: 212 HP / 4 Def / 4 SpA / 220 SpD/ 68 Spe
Calm nature
- earth power
- lava plume
- substutite
- flash cannon
Heatran resists all of Noivern's good moves and can comfortably spam flash cannon until Noivern faints.

Metagross @ metagrossite
Ability: clear body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly nature
- zen headbutt
- bullet punch
- earthquake
- ice punch
Metagross can be sent in when Noivern isn't using a fire attack, take one hit from a fire attack, and one-shot Noivern with ice punch.

Garchomp can outspeed Noivern and one-shot it with outrage.

No. i dont
