Can I poison a Steel-type if it holds a Ring Target?

Question

I'm guessing the answer is no -- the Steel-Type will be able to be hit by Poison-Type moves, but it won't be able to get poisoned. I think the only way to do it is with the Corrosion Ability but I wanted to check to make sure.

You can also do this by changing the steel Pokemon's type. When it switches out, it'll regain its steel type but remain poisoned.
