These two pokemon aren't really that comparable. They have different roles and niches. If you're asking if which is probably more effective for general ingame use, then it's still hard because they're so different. But probably Gengar because it's just generally very strong whilst Furfrou is average.
Is there ANY reason to use Furfrou when you can use Gengar?
Gym badges?
All badges. I'm looking at after-game things.

Quoting Px here "These two Pokemon aren't really that comparable. They have different roles and niches." And now quoting sumwun "Is there ANY reason to use Furfrou when you can use Gengar?" Why Gengar has higher stats where was furfrou when Gengar rose to the top with no competion (sshhhhhh I know about Patrick star but it wasn't as cool). Plus It will help since your team is mostly made up of physical attackers. Now I will be fair you can't cut Gengar's hair but Hairstyle never won a league! (well unless you used attract or something but again sshhhhh) I hope this helped! also you should probably replace water shuriken with scald! ;)

why should they replace water shuriken with scald? Water shuriken is a decent priority move :P
I wasn't done yet, I had to leave early.
eh Scald is more powerful chance of burn less unpredictable Greninja's base stats support special attacks more and Assuming this is 6th gen It Is physical and according to the ability It isn't on that battle bond Steroid.

I would pick Gengar the only advantage Furfrou has is it has 30 more special defense and 10 more HP and it's best attack stat is a underwhelming 80 base attack and its speed is 102 where Gengar is better with 110 Gengar also has a monster 130 base special attack and can learn all sorts of good moves like Shadow Ball Thunderbolt sludge bomb sludge wave Focus Miss/ Focus blast Etc so I would go with Gengar hope I helped

Again, I wasn't done yet, I had to leave early.
Wasn't done with what
yeah same question here...
I wasn't done with asking the full question. I had 3 Pokemon down. Not 7. (5 for my team + Gengar and Furfrou)
