Role : Annoying Toxic staller
Clefable

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
- Toxic
- Cosmic Power
- Stored Power
- Minimize

Strategy: Minimize 3 times for maxed out Evasiveness. Then, either toxic the opponent or perform 6x Cosmic powers for maxed defenses. Proceed to Toxic enemies (if not already done) and then spam Stored Power (which now has a whopping 360 base power). Hopefully this moveset is gonna come in handy. Also, beware of Metagross, as it can 1 shot you if you haven't completed the set-up.

What about a heal move while setting up minimize, even with max evasion there's still a chance it could hit

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Cosmic Power
- Calm Mind
- Minimize

  • Moonblast - STAB & 95 power
  • Cosmic Power - a good setup before you start minimizing
  • Calm Mind - raise sp. attack & sp. defense
  • Minimize - every move they throw at you misses :)

So, the reason I chose a bold nature, is so you can withstand physical steel attacks. You don't really need to worry about Flash Cannon because of Cosmic Power and Calm Mind. Same thing with poison, too. Its ability 'Magic Guard' is great when you're facing a toxic stall Pokemon, so it wouldn't matter if you got burned or poisoned, because it wouldn't affect you with the ability.

Role = Sweeper

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 134 SpA / 128 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Minimize
- Cosmic Power
- Stored Power
- Metronome

Minimize - So nothing can hit you.
Cosmic Power - So if something does manage to hit you, it won't make a dent.
Stored Power - To blast the hell out of them when you've boosted up
Metronome - Duh!

PS plz comment if I can improve!!

Here's what mine knows:

AG's Weakness (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 92 HP / 180 Def / 160 SpA / 68 SpD / 8 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stored Power / Moonblast
- Cosmic Power
- Moonlight
- Minimize

It's really good since Use Minimize first then cosmic power then use Stored power for over 300 dmg (Maxed Boosted stats).
Watch out for Haze and use moonlight if you need to.
This is for VGC18

Has no one done this yet? Wow, okay, here goes nothing...

Clefable @ Red Card / Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 SpD or 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SpD
Bold / Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Soft Boiled
- Charge Beam
- Stored Power

(Pro tip, use 0 attack ivs on Pokemon that lack physical moves! Reduces damage taken from hitting yourself in confusion/getting hit by the move Foul Play!)

Oh boy, where do I even start? I suppose I should explain the natures and EVs. For this set, you want as much bulk as possible, so I chose max hp, since you can increase your def and sp. def with cosmic power. From there, pick Bold/Calm nature, the selected EVs balance out the def and sp. def equally at a max of 242, unboosted by cosmic power, that is. The def and sp. def EVs are very flexible, though, if you find the EVs don't work for you, you may change them to your preference. Now, it's time for the fun to really begin. As I've mentioned before, Cosmic Power will increase your Defense and Special Defense. Within a few turns, you'll be eating attacks like candy. Red Card forces a switch-out upon taking the first direct hit, which helps you set up if the opponent has a poison/steel move or is also setting up to break through your defenses. From there, Soft Boiled provides recovery, which you can use whenever you feel you may need it, Leftovers is also an option if you feel soft boiled alone isn't enough, to replace Red Card. You can also replace Soft Boiled with Moonlight, if you're in a situation where soft boiled isn't an option, or a very hard to get option, at the cost of less PP. So let us imagine now you have all the defenses you need up and your hp is plentiful. From there, you can spam Charge beam. It has a 70% chance to raise your special attack, which just makes it and stored power even stronger. Speaking of Stored Power, this is the best part. After raising your def, sp. def and sp. atk quite a bit, Stored power should have around 200-400 power, depending on how high you chose to raise your stats, and provides poison type coverage. Slap this crazy high power next to a boosted sp. atk stat, and you'll slice through everything that's not dark type like a hot knife to butter, even those that resist it take heavy damage from it. Speaking of dark types, that's of course, where charge beam comes in to help. It may have low power, but it makes up for it with your sp. atk stat, which probably is just going to get even higher if you have to use it. It basically provides stored power support + Coverage support. And choosing charge beam and Stored Power over moves like say, toxic, just absolutely trolls taunt users. And speaking of toxic, Magic Guard kills off any hope your opponent might have of taking you down through status conditions, and much more. All in all, you're left with a near unstoppable Pokemon against unprepared teams, and this is only ONE Pokemon on your team, in which you could fill with anything, including checks to Clefable's counters. How's that for OP?

Tank Clefable set

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Minimize / Calm Mind
- Stored Power
- Flamethrower / Fire Blast / [filler]

-Cosmic Power: to boost your already good defenses
-Minimize/Calm Mind: don’t use Calm Mind unless you can’t boost evasion with the evasion clauses
-Stored Power: works well with stat boosts
-your choice of coverage: in case there’s dark types. Clefable has a huge movepool and almost any damaging attack could work here, but I suggest Flamethrower/Fire Blast because Fire has the highest coverage paired with Psychic. Source

You’re bound to make someone rage quit with this one. Alternatively, you could put on Protect or Toxic if you really want to.

Bulky Special Sweeper

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Modest Nature
- Stored Power
- Cosmic Power
- Calm Mind
- Soft-Boiled

Stored Power - Only damaging move on this set, use this after setting up Cosmic Power and Calm Mind
Cosmic Power - Setup, raises the Defense and Special Defense stats by one stage
Calm Mind - Setup, raises the Special Attack and Special Defense stays by one stage
Soft-Boiled - Healing, restores the user’s HP by half the user’s maximum HP

Clefable @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Teleport
- Moonblast

With the new Teleport buff in Gen 8, Clefable is a really good wish passer. But this is a different take on Clefable's role, and most definitely worse than the standard set. Dual screens + Light Clay helps defense of teammates. Teleport gets the setup sweeper in safely. Moonblast is so you aren't complete taunt bait and is a safe STAB attack.

by
completely outclassed by grimmsnarl. enough said
but teleport :)
slowbro can do the same thing but you haven't got a dual screens slowbro. Actually, slowbro outclasses this because of scald and regenerator+teleport.
but slowbro doesn't exist yet :)
haha natdex ag go brrrr

Clefable
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard / Unaware
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Cosmic Power
- Soft-Boiled / Moonlight
- Charge Beam / Work Up
- Stored Power

Stored Power sweeper. Cosmic Power to be even bulkier, Softboiled to heal but use Moonlight in Battle Spot Singles. Charge Beam lets you do damage and has a chance of raising SpA. It also makes you not completely walled by Dark types, while Work Up can't miss, always raises Special Attack and Attack, but you get completely walled by Dark types. Stored Power is pretty powerful after Cosmic Power and Work Up/Charge Beam boosts.

Clefable @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard / Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Bold Nature / Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Charge Beam / Thunderbolt / Thunder

Moonblast is STAB that covers the many Dark and Dragon types in OU, like Dragapult, Hydreigon, Urshifu... Ice Beam threatens the 4x weak dragons, and will be extremely useful in 6 days, when Garchomp, Landorus Therian, and Salamence will explode into the competitive scene again after an absence from the first part of Sword and Shield. Fire Blast or Flamethrower for Steel types like Metagross, Corviknight, Scizor, and Skarmory (remember, don't use it on Heatran). Charge Beam is good for powering up Clefable's already good offenses, while Thunderbolt is to destroy bulky waters like Gyarados, Milotic, and Suiciune. It also fries Corviknight. Thunder can also be considered but it has only 70% accuracy.

Hope you enjoyed :)

Clefable
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock

Annoying. As. Hell.

Bold Nature to fix Clefable's only decent defense stat. Magic Guard to be immune to Stealth Rocks, Sandstorm, and Toxic. Moonblast to fish for a SpA drop, and considering how many Pokemon are weak to Fairy, it is a good source of damage, especially when taunted. Very spammable too, with 24 PP and a 30% SpA drop chance, unlike moves such as Fire Blast and Draco Meteor. Soft-Boiled for healing, cause Wish is too risky and Moonlight is inconsistent. Pelipper rain is very common, after all. Thunder Wave to shut enemies down, Stealth Rock for chip and for supporting dangerous sweepers, most notably Ash-Greninja.

Clefable (F) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 140 Def / 252 SpA / 116 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
- Solar Beam
- Moonlight
- Sunny Day
- Fire Blast
hear me out, sunny day will power solar beam while also powering fire blast. moonlight would be better than soft boiled because it "heals by a weather depended amount" and when its holding a heat rock it will be a super annoying and overpowered set.

by
Sunny Day Clefable is such a waste. Compromises on its bulk, and Clefable's offenses aren't even that good. Oh and Fire+Grass is subpar coverage

Gen 8 OU

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled

Moonblast is STAB and hits Dragon types like Garchomp, Dragapult, and Hydreigon, as well as Fighting types such as Buzzwole and Dark types like, uhh, Hydreigon. Thunder Wave paralyzes the enemy. Stealth Rock is residual damage. Soft-Boiled is healing.

Again, another BSS series 6 set

Clefable is famously versatile and outclassed by Primarina in BSS series 6. This set is mainly to cripple dynamax sweepers, something AV Primarina and CM Primarina aren’t as good at doing. Here’s the set:

Clefable @ Flame Orb / Lagging Tail
Ability: Magic Guard
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Trick
- Moonlight
- Flamethrower / Calm Mind

Gen 6/7/8 OU / National Dex

Clefable @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spe
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower / Thunder / Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
- Soft-Boiled

Moonblast is STAB with a good chance to lower the enemy's Special Defense. Flamethrower is good coverage and hits Steel types such as Ferrothorn and Magnezone, Thunder smacks Toxapex and Slowbro as well as doing more damage to Corviknight. It also lets Clef do something relevant to Heatran. Ice Beam gets rid of Landorus-Therian quickly and also kills Gliscor, which often packs Taunt. Calm Mind is set up, Soft-Boiled is healing.

Man, once this thing became a fairy type, it got waaaaay better
Clefable
GEN VIII

Clefable @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Magic guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 HP / 252 SpD
Calm NAture
- Cosmic Power
- Moonlight
- Moonblast
- Stored Power

Magic guard is ideal for this moveset, because status conditions and the life orb damage are no problem anymore
Setting up with cosmic power will make this thing unbeatble, specially if you use leftovers
Moonlight will heal the little damage that the enemy done to it
Stored power will do massive damage when you set up enough cosmic powers
Moonblast is STAB and useful against dark types that are immune to stored power

Doubles Clefable

Clefable @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Follow Me
- Protect
- Helping Hand
- Icy Wind / Dazzling Gleam

Unaware is chosen over Magic Guard since indirect damage is less common in doubles, and it allows Clef to take a boosted attack. Follow Me keeps Clefable's ally safe from non-spread moves for a turn. Protect keeps Clefable safe for a turn. Helping Hand powers up its ally's next attack. Icy Wind is for speed control, and Dazzling Gleam is for more powerful spread damage.

Baton Passer?? idk, if that makes sense lol.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Work Up
- Aromatherapy/Draining Kiss
- Baton Pass

I used this in PS a lot, and its pretty good! first, you use a few cosmic powers, about 1-2, then some work ups. you can also use either aromatherapy to help your team a bit, or use draining kiss to get a hit before baton passing. rip for disables, though. personally, I wouldnt use this as a draining kiss spammer or special attacker lol. have fun pissing people off!

Personally, I'd suggest Moonblast to whittle the opponent down slowly. That, or you should use Soft-Boiled since it's reliable recovery.

Gen 9 OU Singles
Clefable @ Clear Amulet
Ability: Unaware
Tera: Psychic / Dark
EVs: 252 SP Atk / 252 Def / 4 Sp Def
Calm Nature
- Cosmic Power
- Stored Power
- Aromatherapy
- Moonblast

It's not the most original Clefable set, but it gains a huge boost to this new item. You can stack Cosmic Power with no fear due to the Clear Amulet. Unaware discourages opponents from boosting against you. Stored Power hits hard with Cosmic Power. Aromatherapy so you won't fall victim to status like Toxic since you have no Magic Guard. It also helps the team. Moonblast is solid STAB. Tera Psychic turns the tides on poison types and gives some nice STAB to Stored Power. Kinda iffy, but Tera Dark if you want to avoid Taunt(yes I just gained this knowledge. Thanks Whiteout.).

by
Btw, the Tera Dark thing works for Prankster Taunt. Tera Dark Clefable will still get hit by Taunt if it isn't a Prankster Taunt.
Thanks!

Wish Support Clefable

Gen 9 OU
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Knock Off

A Wish support Clefable set that you can slap on to a decent amount of teams. This pairs extremely well with mons like Ting-Lu or Extreme Speed Dragonite, which can support Clefable with Earthquake and especially appreciate Wish support. Leftovers for passive recovery. Magic Guard keeps Clefable from being Toxic-stalled, stopped from switching by hazards, and helps against Garganacl.

Moonblast is STAB that helps in the matchup against the many Dragon, Dark, and Fighting Mons in the Metagame. Wish is for recovery and to pass on teammates to help their longevity. Protect allows Clefable to safely receive Wish and to scout possible Choice item opponents. Knock Off is for item removal.

Tera Water removes Clefable’s Steel weakness and allows Clefable to wall Toxapex.

Gen 6 OU singles

Surprise

Clefable @ toxic orb/sitrus berry
Ability: magic guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 6 Def
Nature: Adamant/Impish (adamant preferred)
- Facade
- Belly drum
- Fire punch/dig ( coverage)
- Moonlight (healing)

This monster of a Clefable is very good at sweeping teams with various screen setters as teammates such as mew. Let me explain how this set works. First you want to set light screen and reflect with your screen setter, then you want to switch in to Clefable, as you switched to Clefable you want to use belly drum first, and if you want to use moonlight for healing (if chosen toxic orb). And then sweep with facade. Occasionally you want torus’s fire punch or dig if you run into steel/poison types
