Is Meltan shiny-locked in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee?

Meltan and Melmetal can only be obtained by first catching it in Pokémon GO and then sending it to Let’s Go. Whether it’s shiny in Let’s Go will be the same as in GO. Right now, it’s shiny locked in GO, although there was an event a little while back where it could be shiny. So it’s not possible to hunt it right now.
