PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I just played a gen 8 monotype random battle and me and my opponent both got dragon type(for some reason).
As you can guess it was draco meteor or outrage vs draco meteor or outrage. In the end , it was his hydreigon vs my haxorus. my haxorus was already locked into outrage and had finished a drampa with it. Me and my opponent
said gg to each other as hydreigon is faster than haxorus so I lost we thought. But his draco meteor missed and I KOed hydreigon. Then I wondered, suppose a shower of meteors is coming from sky and you are in the open. Obviously you must have the greatest luck to not get hit by one. So game freak should have made it 100 % accurate and plus the user also loses s.atk by 2 stages as downside of it. Any explanation?

And remember, though it has 90 accuracy, it's more likely to fail in showdown!
Meteors may not land on you! It may miss!
So it's easier to go close to somebody and wreak havoc with Outrage than Meteors missing on you?
yeah @swastik
That's Gamefreak logic. Best answer LOL
Even if the meteors miss you, the resultant shockwave could surely inflict damage
hmmm so draco meteor should be  infinite accuracy!
Most powerful moves are only 90% accurate. Leaf Storm, it's Grass counterpart, is the same.
um so why is outrage 100% accurate?
Because all the 130 BP moves that lower SpA two stages are 90% accurate. Leaf Storm, Overheat, Draco Meteor, Fleur Cannon......
that still doesn't answer why outrage 100% accurate...
I think that's a really big scam, because you are losing your sp.atk by 2 stages.
@AlphaCelestius why is it less accurate in showdown

Yeah, that fact is very true. We can't tell that all moves are truly logical, due to for many balancing purposing, many things have been nerfed. For example, Dark Void, which as seen in the anime is very hard to dodge has a really crappy accuracy. But for balance, it has been given this accuracy.

Outrage is 100% accurate for balancing purposes. While it has 100% accuracy, its after-effects of getting locked into one move making you vulnerable for Fairy-types to freely switch-in and set-up means 100% accuracy isn't that broken.

I think that's a really big scam, because you are losing your sp.atk by 2 stages.

Not really. That Sp.Atk drop doesn't always matter when you can freely switch-in compared to being locked to one move Outrage, which is useless if opponent brings steel-type or fairy-types.

Same goes for this moves. They have been nerfed for some balance.
Hope this helps!

The only variable reason why Draco Meteor is not 100% accurate is because its power is 140, and if it had 100% accuracy then people can be able to use it in online matches (Pokemon Global Link) and basically wipe everyone's Pokemon, which would in turn take the "fun" out of the online matches. Also it's not really fair if Draco Meteor was at 100 accuracy and using it in Online Matches would take the fun out of Online Battling. I hoped this helps yo

I think that meteors, after all, are large. But it doesn't hit always. So that's what I was thinking about.

Hoped I helped!
