PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

For those of you who have been following my Platinum Playthrough and questions, you know that my team, in the end, will be: Torterra, Houndoom, Gyarados, Giratina, Staraptor, and Luxray. Either that or Jolteon, I still can't decide from that q a long time ago, though I'm leaning towards Jolteon, due to the fact that, in regards to type coverage, it won't change my team. It was just recently that I realized, three of my guys(Torterra, Houndoom, and Gyarados) have access to Weather moves(Sandstorm, Sunny Day, Hail, and Rain Dance) Would it be a good idea to have a weather team, where these three know their weather moves. The only one I'm missing as of typing is Hail, as Gyarados knows it, but would get damaged by it, as it's not an Ice type or knowing an ability in which that is the case. Hail, I can live without, unless someone strongly suggests otherwise. Anyway, should I have a Weather Team? I have never done this before, so I'm pretty excited!

In-game, there is absolutely no reason to use weather teams. Brute Force is always the way to go, so weather is just needlessly extending the battle. Additionally, with Sunny Day and Rain Dance, it only benefits one Pokémon. So, I would not do weather because the benefits of boosted move power don't outweigh the downsides of wasting a turn and the limited benefit to one Pokemon.

Okay, I won't then.

Using weather, defog, or hazards in-game is a bad idea. Also if you want to have a useful weather team you would have to replace at least two Pokémon so it is definitely not worth the effort. A good in-game team focuses on type coverage and sometimes has a Pokémon to make catching new Pokémon easier.

Okay, I'll keep this in mind as well.
