How is "pidove" pronounced?

So according to my brother it's pē-dove, but I think it's pih dove. Is either the proper pronunciation?

Like most Pokemon, there's no official pronunciation. There is justification for both pronunciations:

1. This clip of the anime pronounces it as "pee-DUV", with a long e.
2. Pidove's name is derived from "pigeon", which is pronounced with a short vowel instead.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter and is up to personal preference.

i pronounce it pi-DUV with a short i i am also a huge pidove fan and the clip of the anime also pronounces it pi-DUV as well as pee-DUV and pigeon is pronounced with a short vowel and its name is litterally pi(geon)dove
