I’m doing a catchless hardcore nuzlocke, and I’m trying to make a plan. Glaceon and Leafeon are not in this since there isn’t a mossy or icy rock in the game and and I don’t want to use Flareon, since you can get a macargo, jolteon since you can get amphaross or vapoureon because of quagsire. So do I use umbreon or espeon?

Which game are you playing? Assuming HGSS based on the selection of mons mentioned?

edit: adding this to the question directly
well Umbreon is more of a long last dragout kind of Pokemon and has better speed usually and better def then Espeon but lower attack, Espeon is more so a fast attack one shoting Mon, their attack is much higher then umbreon's and has slightly lower speed and not nearly as much def, so I would recommend Umbreon and that you try to get strong moves on it to make up for the lower attack stat.(hopes this helps you)
This is a bad answer. First off, Espeon is a special attacker, not a physical one. Two, strong moves doesn't mean they'll be powerful if the attacking stat is low. Third: Umbreon, is in fact, slower then Espeon. 65 speed to 110 speed.

Honestly, if I was you here I'd go for Umbreon. You can get the TM for Taunt early on, if you haven't already. Would be better bulk then Quagsire because Quag just gets destroyed by a single grass type.

Plus, it'll be immune to Sabrina's team when you reach Kanto.

I'm sorry my answer was bad I was going off what I researched I changed it to a comment(I'll do better on that stuff next time)
Umbreon isn't a great taunt user because it's slow. There are also very few boss battles in Johto with grass Pokemon.
@Justf0rfun Do you want this question back on the unanswered list?
Could you please explain why you think Umbreon is better than Espeon? This answer doesn't so that. And why would you ever want to use Taunt in HGSS? I think a good answer should take matchups against major boss battles ito consideration and none of the answers posted so far do that.
Flags cleared. This is a bad answer but it doesn't break any rules.
