Why was Sigilyph, a Pokemon based on the Nazca Lines in Peru, introduced in the generation 5 games?

I have done a little bit of research and have found the Blythe Intaglios in California, which are similar to the Nazca Lines in Peru. Could this be a good reason as to why Sigilyph was introduced? What are your thoughts and/or theories?
