If my memory is correct, PM has been late to open quite a few name changes. I think most will agree that there need to be a better way of changing names. Maybe allowing users to change their names once every four months (or any period of time, I guess) without name changes having to be opened by PM? Obviously, one of the problems here is that there's not a big post that a lot of people will see saying what someone has changed their name to. Another alternative could be allowing mods to open name changes. This would make it so that people can notify people on the name change thread about what they're changing their name to and also lower the possibility that name changes will be late.
