I think putting pictures on this site takes up extra memory, which makes the site extra expensive to host.

Functionally they complete the exact same thing. QoL, it would be nice, but it wouldn't particularly affect the ability of users. I'm not too sure on how you wouldn't be able to use a third party, but still be able to directly upload.
