Sometimes users can make typos that they want to fix, or they feel like the original wall post didn't quite say what they wanted it to, and seeing as there are post limits, users may not want to waste a post correcting themselves. Being able to edit posts can fix that.

However, to prevent spam and typing different wall posts under the guise of "editing", there can also be an edit limit. Perhaps the same amount as a wall post limit.

I just think this could be useful for quite a few users.

It's possible that someone can make an offensive post and edit it afterwards. Though you are able to edit comments without the comments having revisions so..
True, it's possible to make an offensive post then delete it. But offensive posts can already be made then deleted, seeing as there isn't a deleted wall post history. So I believe that without that type of history, then offensive posts will inevitably be made anyways.
i think i remember somethiing similar to this being suggested before and there was some sort of technical limitation, but I'm not certain of that
That would be unfortunate, PX.
you could just delete the post and paste it into a new one
The problem with that, cranpper, is that doing that makes you waste a wall post, and most people don’t want to use up a wall post to fix a small mistake.
You can effectively triple your wall post allowance by swapping to a different section.
Unfortunately for me, I do that.

I’m pretty sure I just post too much on walls though.
True, Fizz. But some users may not know about that. Wouldn't an option to edit wall posts be a good idea regardless?
Can't we get rid of the wall post limit or make it higher when we reach a certain amount of points?
That could be a good alternate Gekky
@Gekky, I would like that. But haven't there been incidents in the past of people abusing extra privileges?
no answer and 6 years ago, i have no problem leaving this up, also i must have confused it with something else
I like this idea, and, though I don't know much about code, shouldn't be too hard to do, just copy paste the code that allows edits for comments, into the wall post code.
