Is a question/answer that is being edited visible to others?

I want to know if a question or answer that gets edited is still visible to others. An example is if I answer a question with a list, then, I take an hour to edit. During that hour, is my non-updated answer still visible? The same goes for if I ask a question. Would it still be visible during an hour of editing?

Yes, the original is still visible.

Source: Editing moveset thread answers, and looking at the same thread on a different tab. The answer remains while I'm editing it.
