Meta-PokéBase Q&A

The title is a bit of a lie — tables technically do work on PokeBase if you use HTML tags.

hello look at
me i am
a html table
on pokemon db
dot net forward
slash pokebase goodbye

But this doesn't look deliberate to me, since the formatting is just inherited from main stylesheet, the post preview doesn't format the table properly, and Markdown table syntax isn't enabled here. My suggestion is that we deliberately enable tables on PokeBase (both with HTML and Markdown).

You could achieve the effects by using code blocks, like this:

bad substitute
for real
tables goodbye

But that doesn't look good (of course, because it was made for a different purpose). If we had properly integrated tables on PokeBase, then they'd look good and wouldn't be buggy. A Q&A community definitely has a use for this feature — I know I've wanted to put tables in my posts before. Surely it's possible?

BTW Pokemaster, you can do this on PokeBase, which you might want to address at the very least. (Sorry to everyone else — this is something I don't want you to see lol.)

(Also, promotions please?)

I really wanted this feature. Especially for those long lists lol.

Yeah, I’d like to be able to have borders and background colors to tables, unless if we can change the style of HTML tags through markdown, but I’m pretty sure all we can really use is href (and alt?). :P
