Hello everyone!

This may sound a bit different to the answers you're used to seeing from me. I didn't do any drafts for this — everything is from the heart. You'll forgive me if it's a little sloppy. :P

I would like to sincerely thank each and every person who's ever helped me on the Database. When I first joined, getting 100 points seemed like a pipe dream, let alone getting the most points of anyone! But it's thanks to the spectacular and wholly unique community here on the DB that I'm still here. I don't think there's anywhere quite like it, and I am honored to be one of you.

In the grand scheme of things, getting #1 on a Pokémon website might not be that life-changing (and it's probably not something I want to bring up in casual conversation!). But I truly believe the community we have here is one of the most conscientious and tight-knit on the internet. The DB fulfills a very specific niche with community as its centerpiece, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

While I'm on the topic of a wonderful community... I'd like to thank a few people for their unrelenting support through it all. Maybe a little cliche, but I think I've earned the right. :P

• ~Silver~, for your consistent good faith and unerring willingness to support the DB. I never would've made it here without you. Thank you for everything!
• sumwun, for constantly picking at my answers to find points I missed. You have made me a stronger writer and I am sure that's resulted in me ending up here. Thanks for being a royal pain in the ass. :)
• The rest of the staff team for making this site one worth coming back to. I have never met a more principled group of people, and I am deeply thankful to be one of you.
• JustATypicalPerson, for being one of the few 2021-era people to stick with it all these years. It's great to have a necroposting protégé. :P
• The 2020-era users, even the ones who aren't active anymore. You guys know who you are. Without you, I never would've gotten off the ground.

And everyone else! For having faith in me as a moderator, as a person, and as a Pokemon fanatic. It truly has been a dream to live out my greatest hobby with you all.

Thank you everyone, again! Words can't say how delighted I am right now, and I'm so glad so many of you feel the same way. At the risk of sounding painfully cheesy... thanks for letting me be the best that ever was. :P

Absolutely Remarkable.

I never thought Mewderator would ever be surpassed. He's been in #1 for over 10 years!

However... Turns out a change to the leaderboard wasn't impossible after all.

I congratulate Amethyst on his amazing journey to the top. The motivation to do the hard work of rising up by thousands of points was truly amazing to witness.

This man has absolutely no competition. He's now the greatest, and ~Silver~, I believe you are correct about the fact that his reign as #1 will be a long and glorious one. This amazing user will go down in history, long after he's gone, and probably long after most of us are gone as one of the most respected and remembered users ever to exist. A legend now and forever.

I cannot even start to list the DB records that have been recently broken due the Amethyst himself, the fastest point-gaining user ever. I don't know much, because I'm new, but I know that there are things that I have witnessed recently that are certainly viable to qualify as some of the greatest changes in the history of the site. I personally want to add that he is maybe the most deserving moderator in the history of the Pokémon DB!

Feels lame to leave it off at #4. Might as well close off the final 10,000 points.

This is, as cheesy as it might sound, one of the most respectable quotes I've seen on the DB, especially since he stuck to his word and finished in what, a month? Wow.

You made it. You did it. You are crowned the greatest user in the history of the pokebase section, which takes extreme personal sacrifice and effort, to the likes of which no one has both been willing to do and done for a very long time. I sincerely hope you stay with us and be our very much deserving leader until the DB comes an end. We really were in need of new one, and you fill the gap better than anyone else I can think of could. I'd be willing to bet that one better will ever come along. WE ARE ON YOUR SIDE!
