A Bulky Quiver Dance Volcarona set for Bug teams in Gen 9 Monotype. Bulky Volcarona serves as a nice wincon in games. Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed, which is useful vs Ghost-types not named Skeledirge. Fiery Dance is used for Fire STAB due to the chance of it raising Volcarona's Special Attack. Psychic provides coverage against Toxapex and to a lesser extent, Clodsire. Morning Sun is used for HP recovery since Volcarona doesn't have access to Roost at the time of this post. Giga Drain can be used instead for a move that restores HP and is useful against Water-types such as Slowking, Gastrodon, and Quagsire.

The EV spread was created by a Smogon user named TheWyvernKing, so credit goes to him. 248 HP provides bulk for both defensive stats. 84 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed +1 Iron Treads after 2 Quiver Dance boosts. The 24 Special Attack EVs are leftover EVs. I can't really explain what the defensive EVs were for since WyvernKing forgot what they were for, but the spread helps Volcarona live a Sucker Punch from Kingambit.

"Bug bug:STAB" Do you mean Bug Buzz? And if so, why 6 Attack EVs when his attacks are all special? Also, why Impish, which lowers your Special Attack, instead of something like Timid or Modest?

Naughty Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leech Life
- Fiery Dance
- Heat Wave
- Giga Drain/Trailblaze

Both Fire type moves can boost Sp. Atk. Leech Life is recovery and can be supported/replaced by Giga Drain. The Grass type moves can get rid of the double Rock-type weakness. Basically it's just for Sp. Atk, I know y'all are gonna dunk on that. But nonetheless, enjoy!

Why Leech Life when Volcarona is a special attacker and you have no physical investment besides the Naughty nature? Why Trailblaze instead of Quiver Dance or another special option? Do you really need both Fiery Dance and Heat Wave? Were there no better options than Wise Glasses or Shell Bell?
