What form is best a for a Jolly Deoxys?

What do you want to use this Deoxys for? If it's for competitive battles, what format?
I think in most formats, jolly Deoxys is almost never good because too many of its good moves are special. It might have a small niche in Anything Goes as knock off speed Deoxys.

I think Deoxys Attack. Since it's already TOO frail so even lowering it's defense more would be nothing for it. It's also better for Deoxys-A to make it faster, because it's very frail, and if it's lower then another Pokémon's speed then.... You know what's gonna happen. Normal form would be OK too, but still, having lower defense then 50 (or 50) with a lower thing in your best stat is worse then having a Pokémon with 20 defense with having then +30 in their best stat. Deoxys Speed could be an OK option too, since you are supposed to be the fastest, but since Deoxys Speed is already the fastest Pokémon it isn't the best thing :/ If it's in competetive no one is gonna use a Ninjask, so even with Ninjask outspeeding a Deoxys Speed with a Choice Scarf, no one would use it, because it's in PU. So my point keeps at Deoxys Attack, it has great Attack Moves, like Zen Headbutt, with a 20% chance to flinch, so if some Pokémon still survived your hits, then there is a chance that the opposing Pokémon will flinch. Now, I am a bit making a moveset for it, but you get it. I am not the best competetive wisely so you should test it out by yourself. (I am thrash competetive wisely, so I don't answer :P)

@SYL Jolly lowers special attack, not physical defense. Attack and speed Deoxys are usually both too reliant on special attacks to make good use of jolly nature, and base form Deoxys is outclassed by attack Deoxys.

Hello - Formula's below.. Deoxys-(TYPE) can be competively usefull in numerous ways however OU/UBER's have been used over the years for typical moveset below. As you were asking which form is best well neither. It depends on your team, as bulky sweepers/walls/ pesky F.E.A.R tactics can kill a 1vs1 anyway.. also as a singular Pokemon its best matched in a useful team.. 2x speedy attackers, 1/2 walls, 1x healer or 2/3rd wall, legend and mega.. That's a usual team, so i'd imagine your deoxys (1x) would be a speedy attacker, (any) type works really... AGAIN, purely depends on the team, I believe you'd have a better experience focusing on your decision' and probably games by means tested experience; playing around with various types, so you can closely match up your gaming experience vs competitive battling.

BELOW, list of variables.

1. ATTACK -
   Deoxys-Attack @ Life Orb (extra damage - held item)
   Ability: Pressure (exerts pp)
   EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe (speedy attacker

   Jolly Nature (Jolly)- Extreme Speed (finish target)- Avalanche (power increased when user goes last, which is likely first turn- Agility (increase Speed +2 every turn, max 6)- Magic Coat (bounces certain damaging moves back)

3. SPEED -
   Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash
   Ability: Pressure
   EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
   Jolly Nature - Low Kick (deals heavy damage to heavy targets, e.g. Wailord)- Focus Punch - psychic (knocks items off targets)- Extreme Speed (priority attack, excellent vs finishing)

4. NORMAL -
   Deoxys @ Poison Barb (Poisons target with 70+dmg, use fling)
   Ability: Pressure
   EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
   Jolly Nature - Focus Punch (fails if user goes last)- Fling (fling item, damages enemy 70 dmg and poisons)- Throat Chop (dark attack, 2x turns enemy cant use sound moves, good vs fairys)- - psychic

Even without going into strategies and "the metagame", this post already has problems.
Focus punch is a bad move on attack and speed Deoxys because it has low priority and leaves Deoxys vulnerable to opponents' attacks.
Why would anyone want to knock a flame orb off a Gliscor? Wouldn't you want to see it get burned and get its physical attack halved?
Magic coat doesn't bounce attacks.

What's the point in using attack Deoxys without STAB? What's the point in using speed Deoxys to attack when attack Deoxys is better at it? What's the point in using defense or regular Deoxys at all when you can use Lugia or attack Deoxys?

There are some STAB mvoes, he was asking whats a usefull deoxys. since deoxys doesnt have a psychical move thats psychic and jolly negates special attack's anyway it seemed useful to not use it. Even though STAB would be beneficial its competetive battling and still obvious as a move. FIre vs grass, grass user switches out... sees a fire hit coming...

Honestly, any form, really. Except maybe Attack (unless you're running purely physical, which isn't very good) or Defense (which is kinda poor in general but gets the job done).

Personally, though, I feel Deoxys Speed can function reasonably well, with a set consisting of

• Knock Off
• Stealth Rock
• Spikes/ Taunt
• Superpower

The last can be swapped out with Magic Cost or Skill Swap, should you need a more gimmicky set to counter some troublesome Pokemon in the opposition.
