This question and the answer’s source doesn’t have formulas for beyond Gen 4. Does anyone know these formulas? Also, make sure to include the formula for Gen 5 double battles if it’s any different.

thought it was if your lead was faster?
Yeah that's what it is
If your Pokemon is slower, you will sometimes escape but other times you won't. There's definitely more to it than that.
https://www.serebii.net/games/escape.shtml#wild
Serebii says that the formula is Probability = (((UserSpeed * 32)/ (OpponentSpeed / 4))+ 30 * AttemptNumber) / 256
I'd assume that it's for Generation 6, as that's what all of the screenshots on the pages seem to be from.
I've always thought that Speed helped a lot for the calcs, alongside level. Ex. My garchomp always runs successfully, but my Vikavolt, which is lower lv and has awful speed, has much more trouble with running away.

This question still doesn't have a formula, but now the answer’s source does.

If your Pokemon is faster or at the same Speed as the wild Pokemon, fleeing will always succeed. Otherwise:

This formula applies to every game starting with Black and White. The only place it might not apply is wild double battles, but we don't have a better formula for that.
