Urshifu

Urshifu @ Assault Vest / Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Wicked Blow
- Iron Head / Poison Jab
- Stone Edge

This thing has mediocre Special Defense, so an Assault Vest can be used if you don’t want to be locked into one move. A Choice Band is if you don’t mind being locked into one move and you want to hit harder. Jolly gives an increase to Speed. Close Combat is very strong STAB. Wicked Blow is a move I like to spam with the Assault Vest for STAB and a bunch of critical hits. Iron Head or Poison Jab can be used for Fairy coverage, though I prefer Iron Head for the flinch chance. Stone Edge covers Flying types.

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Life Orb
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Poison Jab
- Stone Edge

  • Surging Strikes: Strong STAB that blows through substitutes
  • Close Combat: Strong STAB
  • Poison Jab: Covers Grass and Fairy
  • Stone Edge: Covers Flying

The ability to break through Protect makes this Pokémon hard to stop. Very strong new legendary Pokémon.

Protective Pads + Taunt
National Dex UU

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Protective Pads
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Taunt
- U-turn

Usually, Urshifu-R gets harmed by Rocky Helmet and Moltres's Flame Body. However, with Proctective Pads, you will be protected from those effects. Surging Strikes is used for Water STAB that hits three times, with each one being a critical hit each time. Close Combat is used for fighting STAB. Taunt stops defensive non-Regenerator Pokemon from being able to recover after switching into one of Urshifu's STAB moves so you can break through them later. U-turn is used for pivoting move that does chip damage to opposing Pokemon and allows you to bring in a teammate.

Urshifu @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wicked Blow
- Close Combat / Drain Punch
- Poison Jab / Zen Headbutt / Iron Head
- U-Turn

Explanation - Wicked Blow is STAB with 120 Base Power which is really Strong. Choose Close Combat if you want more Power or Drain Punch if you want some recovery. Personally, I would opt for Close Combat, but it's your Choice. It is the same for the 3rd move, but I would go for Iron Head for the flinch chance, but again, your choice. Also, Poison Jab and Iron Head cover Fairy. U-Turn is useful for when you encounter a faster threat or something you won't OHKO.

Also with crit I think Wicked Blow is 240 power with STAB.
Since Generation Six, Critical Hits now only have a 1.5x multiplier so with STAB the power would be 180.
Oh, I forgot XD

Sub + Bulk Up

Urshifu @ Leftovers
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 240 HP / 164 Atk / 104 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Bulk Up
- Wicked Blow
- Drain Punch

240 HP EVs puts Urshifu at 401 HP, which guarantees the Substitute won't break from one Seismic Toss, so you can freely wall Chansey/Blissey. 164 Attack EVs + an Adamant nature guarantees a 2HKO on Toxapex after a Bulk Up. The rest of the EVs are put into speed because... why not. It can outspeed stuff like max speed Bisharp, and some not fully invested base 80-85 speed mons. Substitute helps block status and gives a setup opportunity. Bulk Up is to set up to do even more damage with Wicked Blow and Drain Punch. Wicked Blow is standard STAB. Drain Punch is for good recovery.

Rain

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Aqua Jet

This thing does so much damage if bulky grasses are taken care of. Rain + Choice Band + STAB Surging Strikes cleanly 2HKOs Skarmory. Close Combat is secondary STAB to beat Ferrothorn. U-turn is for pivoting. Aqua Jet is STAB priority that will pick off weakened faster Pokemon like Cinderace, especially in rain.

252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory in Rain on a critical hit: 243-288 (72.7 - 86.2%) -- approx. 2HKO
Possible damage amounts: (81, 82, 82, 84, 84, 85, 87, 87, 88, 90, 90, 91, 93, 93, 94, 96)

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Scarf
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- U-Turn

Choice Scarf really helps Urshifu's average speed, and Surging Strikes and Close Comnat are good STAB moves. Ice Punch helps with Rillaboom, U-Turn helps it escape from threats like Rillaboom with Wood Hammer and Togekiss.

Urshifu-Single Strike @ Life Orb
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wicked Blow
- Close Combat / Drain Punch
- Iron Head
- Thunder Punch

These are powerful physical attacks combined with a life orb for devastating hits with a goal of getting an OHKO. Wicked blow is Urshifu's signature physical dark type attack, it always results in a crit and is boosted by stab. Close Combat or Drain Punch, Close Combat does more damage but lowers defences and Drain punch does less damage but restores health. Iron head for the fairy coverage, it has also has a chance to make the opponent's Pokemon flinch. Thunder punch for the flying coverage. With these attacks Urshifu has coverage over 10 types being: Normal, Water, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Rock, Ghost, Dark, Steel, and Fairy. The EV spread is to create a stong physical sweeper upping Attack and Speed.

If you don't want to be like pretty much every team that lacks a Kommo-o or Blissey / Chansey, you need an Ash-Greninja check or it will run you over. Blissey and Chansey can't switch into Knock Off and can't switch into Greninja with Spikes / Stealth Rock up repeatedly, Kommo-o has a very unfavorable matchup against Clefable... Urshifu-R still is weak to Moonblast, but its lack of a 4x weakness helps there. Yep, here's a defensive Urshifu-R. Very anti-meta but who cares!

Urshifu-Rapid Strike @ Assault Vest / Heavy-Duty Boots / Leftovers
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 HP / 156 SpD / 100 Spe or 252 HP / 248 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful / Jolly Nature (depending on the EV spread)
- Drain Punch
- U-turn
- Poison Jab / Scald
- Surging Strikes

Drain Punch is STAB and recovery. U-turn allows Urshifu-R to pivot out of unfavorable matchups, and scouts the enemy's switch. If Urshifu is holding Heavy-Duty Boots, it can ignore Greninja and Ferrothorn's Spikes. Poison Jab hits Clefable and Tapu Fini and can poison, Scald is weak but it can burn. Surging Strikes is Urshifu-R's strongest move and allows it to break Substitutes.

100 Speed EVs and a Careful nature or 8 Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature allow Urshifu-R to hit 255 Speed, which lets it outspeed Modest Heatran, 112 Speed Landorus-Therian, Timid Magearna, and 20 Speed Jolly Gliscor.

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 248 SpD Assault Vest Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: 110-129 (27.2 - 31.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 248 SpD Assault Vest Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: 80-94 (19.8 - 23.2%) -- possible 5HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 248 SpD Assault Vest Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: 110-129 (27.2 - 31.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after 3 layers of Spikes

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 248 SpD Assault Vest Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: 80-94 (19.8 - 23.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after 3 layers of Spikes

0 Atk Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Greninja-Ash: 282-332 (98.9 - 116.4%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 248 SpD Assault Vest Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: 144-170 (35.6 - 42%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

0 Atk Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Heatran on a critical hit: 306-360 (94.7 - 111.4%) -- approx. 81.3% chance to OHKO

0 Atk Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 368-434 (51.5 - 60.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

National Dex Monotype (Water)

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Fightinium Z / Psychium Z / Electrium Z
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Close Combat
- Surging Strikes
- Aqua Jet / Zen Headbutt / Thunderpunch

A Bulk Up + Z-Move set for Urshifu-R. Bulk Up is to allow you to boost your attack while boosting your defense. Close Combat is for strong fighting STAB. Surging Strikes is for water STAB that hits opposing Pokemon 3 times that always score a critical hit each time. For the last slot, you can choose which move you prefer. Aqua Jet can be used for priority water STAB. Zen Headbutt is an option for dealing with certain Pokemon like Toxapex. Thunder Punch can be used to hit certain water types switching in such as Pelipper, the Slow twins, Mantine, etc. The Z Move you use for this set depends on what you chose in the last slot. If you chose Aqua Jet, use Fightinium Z which allows you to have a one time strong fighting move nuke. If you use Zen Headbutt, use Psychium Z to help beat Toxapex. If going with Thunder Punch, Electrium Z should be used.

(Single Strike) VGC 2020 Endgame Sweeper

Urshifu-Gmax @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wicked Blow
- Close Combat
- Iron Head / U-Turn / Protect / Poison Jab / Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch

Due to Urshifu's poor defensive typing I like to use it as a late game cleanup. If it's primary counters (Togekiss, Sylveon, Mimikyu, etc) are gone it can just roam around finishing Pokemon off with it's godlike ability, excellent attack stat, and hitting things with essentially base 120 power STAB moves and STAB Sucker Punch.

Urshifu @ Life Orb
Ability: Unseen fist
EVs : 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch / Iron Head
- Wicked Blow

Practically just buff with Bulk Up and gain HP back with drain punch. Iron Head may be extra coverage or Sucker punch for priority. Just whether you trust your speed.
Alternative set is Aqua Jet instead of Sucker Punch for Surging Strikes and change signature move. I personally prefer Surging Strikes as it needs more eccentric typings to be resisted where as Single Strike get walled by fairy.

Urshifu @ Roseli Berry/Life Orb/Assault Vest
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wicked Blow
- Drain Punch /Brick Break
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
Unlike the Rapid-Strike form, this one is not weak to Psychic or Grass, but extremely weak to Fairy, that's why I gave it a Roseli Berry, Wicked Blow is a powerful move with STAB and guarantees a critical hit, Drain Punch can help Urshifu gain back it's HP, Brick Break is for breaking shields, Iron Head to counter this form of Urshifu's major weakness, Rock Slide is a good move in Double Battles since it hits both targets and have a 30% Flinching Chance.
Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Life Orb
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat/Brick Break/Drain Punch
- Poison Jab
- Ice Punch
Surging Strikes for a good STAB move that knocks substitutes, Close Combat is a little as it lowers the user's defenses by one stage, Poison jab is for Fairy and Grass type cover, it also has a good chance of poisoning the target, Ice Punch is for Fairy Cover and the Freeze would be nice too.
I hoped I've helped!

So, uhhhhhhhhhhh, yeahh. I hope you enjoy and confuse people with the defense investment.

Replace Aqua Jet with Ice Punch.
First, this is vgc, so ice punch is quite bad. Second of all, revenge killing purposes? What about spectrier? Dragapult? Kartana?

GIGANTAMAX URSHIFU AG

Urshifu-Gmax @ Assault Vest / Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Wicked Blow
- Iron Head / Poison Jab
- Stone Edge / U-turn

Close Combat --> Max Knuckle
Wicked Blow --> G-Max One Blow
Iron Head --> Max Steelspike / Poison Jab --> Max Ooze
Stone Edge --> Max Rockfall / U-Turn --> Max Flutterby

- Close Combat strong STAB and hits Dark-resistant foes mainly like Yveltal on the switch. When Gigantamaxed, Close Combat turns into Max Knuckle and raises the users attack stat by 1 stage.
- Wicked Blow STAB and always results in a critical hit, this is part of the reason why Urshifu is so broken along with the fact that it ignores protect and detect thanks to the ability Unseen Fist. When Gigantamaxed, Wicked Blow turns into "G-Max One Blow" and breaks through Max Guard and any protect like move.
- Iron Head / Poison Jab both hit fairy types while Iron Head has a good 30% chance to cause the opposing Pokemon to flinch and Poison Jab has a good 30% chance to cause the opposing Pokemon to be poisoned.
- Stone Edge is strong coverage that hits Flying Type Pokemon and has an increased critical hit ratio of 1/8 instead of 1/24 but it also has a 20% chance to miss as well.
- U-turn to pivot out of bad spots and to get other teammates in safely.

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Muscle Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Brick Break
- Bulk Up
- Ice Punch

  • Surging Strikes (STAB)
  • Brick Break (STAB and removes screens)
  • Bulk Up (Set up)
  • Ice Punch (Coverage and possible freeze)

Bulk Up is a great set up move for Urshifu as it increases attack and defence simultaneously, making it useful. Surging Strikes serves as a powerful STAB move when paired with muscle band. Brick Break breaks screens (Light Screen & Reflect) and can serve as extra STAB (but please use Surging Strikes instead). Ice Punch is to be used as coverage against flying and grass Pokemon.

Hope it Helps

Gen 9 National Dex Monotype Swords Dance (Water)

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unseen Fist
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet

The Urshifu forms get Swords Dance in Gen 9, so here is a Swords Dance set for Urshifu-Rapid-Strike. This set should be used on Water teams in Gen 9 NatDex Monotype. Swords Dance boosts your attack by two stages, which allows Urshifu-RS to break past things better. Surging Strikes is used as a Water STAB that crits 3 times in one turn. Close Combat is used for a powerful Fighting STAB. Aqua Jet allows you to revenge kill faster Pokemon such as Mega Diancie, Chi-Yu, and Flutter Mane. Focus Sash is used to help setup Swords Dance. The Tera Type is Water because the Tera Type has to be the same as the type you're using in the Gen 9 Monotype formats. This set is for Water teams, so the Tera Type has to be Water. Water Tera Type allows Urshifu-RS to get rid of its Flying, Psychic, and Fairy weakness. Water Tera Type is also useful to boost the power of Surging Strikes and Aqua Jet.
