Is it fine if I cheat the mono type nuzlocke a little?

I'm doing an Pokemon emerald hardcore mono fire type nuzlocke as you may already know but is it fine if I only increase my level cap for roxanne by 1.

It is your nuzlocke and you can do whatever you want with it. The "rules" are only suggestions, nobody's forcing you to play that way.
