How did Aegislash get paralysed through King's Shield?

Question

i am battling leon in gen 8 battle tower with my regieleki and grimmsnarl against aegislash and seismetoad. his aegislash uses king's shield then my regieleki thunder waves it then it LANDS TROUGH KING'S SHIELD. how is this possible???

King's Shield protects the user from any moves except status moves for that turn.

Thunder Wave is a status move, so it wasn't blocked by Aegislash.
