If a player uses an ice type attack against an opponent that has the new ability Mega Sol in Pokemon Champions, does that ability prevent the Pokemon from Freezing, or does it just automatically thaw at the end of the same round?

Does sun being up normally prevent a Pokemon from being frozen?

Edit: Okay looking on Bulbapedia, apparently you can't freeze a Pokemon in harsh sunlight but the sun being up has no effect on an already frozen Pokemon thawing.

HOWEVER, Mega Sol treats MOVES USED as if they are under harsh sunlight, so freezing shouldn't be affected by Mega Sol.
Ditto use that as answer. Mega Sol does nothing to freezing
Alright.

Mega Sol treats moves used by the Pokemon with the ability as if they were under harsh sunlight. So no, Mega Sol would not prevent Mega Meganium from being frozen.

I think I misunderstood what mega sol does
No, it makes sense that one could think it makes the Pokemon behave as if in Sun, as almost all sun-influenced cases are when a Pokemon is using a move.
If mega sol affects the ability user's moves, does that mean that if a Pokemon has both mega sol and ice beam, that Pokemon's ice beam won't be able to freeze anything?
That's a great question, you should ask it!
Nah I'd lose.
