Froslass (F) @ Bright Powder
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hex
- Thunder Wave
- Attract
- Hail/ Ice Beam

In hail and with Bright Powder + Attract the only hit chance is very low. Only if opponent has always hit moves will their moves hit, which makes Froslass FORRBIDDEN and could kill others fast. Hex works super well after you Thunder Wave the opponent and makes them slow and might not move.

wondering why no one use this set before
Good lord that's a small chance.
yes it is, almost impossible
Did you count the paralyze chance?
You could also do torment and ice beam( not blizzard its 8 pp is too low for your one attack move) becuase torment can stop them from spamming the same never miss move, and it's rare to run more then 1 never miss move with their low power.
no i didnt XDDD But it will go to 0% I bet
This set is so evil that it's awesome. XD
This. Is. Amazing.
Thank you! :)
thanks for all the upvote, guys! So happy!
the reason why this set isn't very common is because it's pretty much a one trick-pony. He can figure out your strategy then send in a pokemon like a genderless/female ground type. In ubers, which is the only format where sand veil/snow cloak isn't banned, most legendary or mythical pokemon there are genderless so it's not very popular
I like it! However, I am going for more of an offensive Froslass for my Crown Tundra playthrough so if you want more of a sweeper Froslass I would add both Ice Beam and Hail. Thanks for the idea!
sorry for necroing, idk if I'm breaking a rule, hopefully not. I'm just curious as to what the advantage is of zeroing an IV?

Gen 8 NU

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Icy Wind
- Taunt
- Thunder Wave

Similar to other suicide lead sets, but this one doesn't have Destiny Bond. Froslass is carving out a niche for it in NU as a Spikes setter for HO teams. The thing Froslass can do that Garbodor doesn't (who's usually the spikes setter of NU) is that it can threaten Xatu, who can deter entry hazards. This certain set has been used in the NU SCL, and is very successful. Spikes is for setting up a hazard that helps put grounded foes into range of your teammates' attacks. Taunt stops Pokemon like Diancie, Mudsdale, and Bronzong from setting up Stealth Rock and also stops setup sweepers from setting up. Icy Wind is for chip damage and slows down opposing Pokémon. Thunder Wave is also used for slowing down opposing Pokémon and is useful against the fast Pokemon in the tier such as Drapion and Talonflame. This set always makes some sort of progress in games. The only troublesome threats to this set are mainly Rock Blast Aerodactyl and Magic Coat Araquanid, but they aren't common so... yeah.

Gen 8

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Taunt
- Ice Beam
- Destiny Bond

This is mainly an anti-lead/sweeper set, and a shut down to the annoying stalls and walls. Pretty much Smogon's standard Ubers set, but not quite the suicide lead in this case.

Shadow Ball and Ice Beam are both STAB and coverage. Shadow Ball is for blasting, but it's usually Ice Beam that should be your to-go move, as taunting a wall successfully will give you 2-3 attack chances at a Freeze regardless of if your opponent stays in or switches. Even if you do lose the attacking game, Destiny Bond is there to ensure a takedown.

Timid Nature is to make max use out of your speed, and Focus Sash is to ensure you'll live to pull out DB. Cursed Body is always welcome if some annoying wall decides to go at it with you and spam their singular attacking move. Combining that with Taunt will give you a very nice Struggle in return and force a switch into a potential Ice Beam Freeze.

Froslass
Froslass @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body / Snow Cloak
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Endure
- Ice Shard
- Confuse Ray

I guess you could say this moveset is very similar to the others, but I focus on a bit more different things. The main idea of this set is to annoy your opponent like crazy. Ice Shard is there as your only attack, which is a nice priority move for any last second situations, or for finishing off foes. the main idea is Confuse Ray, Endure, and Destiny Bond. Put up confusion to maybe force a switch, or just annoy them; than continue to spam Ice Shard until you are starting to take a good amount of damage, where you can use Endure, and if you are faster the next turn, Destiny Bond! Then BAM, you got yourself a kill.

Great moveset! But(theres always a but) keep in mind that while you may get a kill with destiny bond, you also lose a valuble safe-switcher(A pokemon that can switch in to counter a normal or fighting type move)and/or sweeper

The Queen (Froslass) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Spikes
- Confuse Ray / Shadow Ball

Substitute breaks down your health, and protects you from status.
Pain Split does hard damage to your foe, and recovers your lost hp.
Spikes is for hazard setting, I use Frosslass on a team where I already have a Toxic Spikes setter and a Stealth Rocks setter, so yeah.
Confuse Ray is optional, but Shadow Ball is best for finishing off opponents, and for Taunt :/

Can you substitute shadow ball for ice beam or blizzard- (for blizzard you can put hail instead of spikes bc it’s also hazard)

Physical

Froslass @ Choice Band / Life Orb
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- Poltergeist
- Ice Shard / Crunch / Trick
- Spikes

Very epic set lol. Triple Axel is extremely powerful STAB that breaks Sash and Substitute, a very good offensive move. Poltergeist is another brutally powerful STAB that only fails against noobs or Acrobatics/Unburden users. Crunch is a filler move, Ice Shard is STAB priority, Trick messes with defensive Pokémon. Spikes is residual damage and isn't actually that bad with Band since it goes up to 3 layers, so unlike Stealth Rock and Toxic, it doesn't fail the 2nd turn it is used. Pursuit's removal is a big boon for this Froslass set. If you're still not fond of Choiced Spikes, you can always run Trick.

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Destiny Bond

All right starting off with Ice Beam for some fresh STAB, Thunderbolt gives coverage against annoying bulky waters, Psychic also gives coverage against a few types, Fighting-types often carry Stone Edge too so yeah.
Destiny Bond works well with Timid max speed and the Focus Sash witch those annoying entry hazards break... so yeah might be a good idea to switch in if you see way too annoying hazards coming.

Froslass #478
*Legends in snowy regions say that a woman who was lost on an icy mountain was reborn as Froslass. (Alpha Sapphire)

Such a tragic story. Coincidentally, there are Pokemon that appear to doomed travelers, like Articuno. Is it possible that these maidens met the Legendary Bird only to be frozen by it? shivers Ghost types...

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 8 HP / 240 SpA / 20 SpD / 240 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature
- Captivate
- Frost Breath
- Pain Split
- Destiny Bond

One of Froslass' greatest asset is its Speed. It can outspeed most Pokemon, especially with Speed investment. This particular set would make a great Doubles Froslass. Paired with Taunt Pranksters, such as Whimsicott or Mega- Banette, Froslass can perform unhindered by disruption. Captivate takes advantage of its Gender to harshly lower the SpAtk of Male Pokemon. Given her frail nature, this can increase her survivability so that she can use Pain Split to average her Hp with her aggressor. Alternatively, taking a big hit may activate your Focus Sash. Although Ice is considered a weak typing Defensively, on the attack it can cripple your opponents. Frost Breath has reliable accuracy and hits for critical damage, boosting this attack from 60 to 120 to 180, considering STAB. Thats some cold breath. If all else fails, Froslass can utilize Destiny Bond to take her opponent with her. Cursed Body has a 30% chance to disable one of your opponent's moves. This can help to gauge when to use Destiny Bond.

Gen VI

Froslass (F) @ Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Confuse Ray
- Destiny Bond
- Captivate
- Pain Split

CONFUSE RAY: yes, Confuse Ray
Destiny Bond: for when the Sash leaves you with 1hp
Captivate: might as well. almost every Pokemon I encounter in almost every battle is a male
- ANOTHER OPTION: Attract. I mean, why not? The opponent will be less likely to attack, and that way you could replace Pain Split with a damaging move, like my personal favorite of Froslass', Draining Kiss.
Pain Split: why wouldn't you use Pain Split?

Of course, if you're into fast and aggressive:

Froslass (F) @ Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Confuse Ray
- Draining Kiss
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball

Confuse Ray: what? it's my favorite status move
Draining Kiss: draining move AND deals with Dark type menaces
Ice Beam: STAB, may freeze
Shadow Ball: STAB, may lower Sp Def of opponent

But I wouldn't suggest an aggressive moveset. It's very risky.

MOVE SET

Froslass (F) @ Bright Powder
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Confuse Ray
- Thunder Wave
- Hail
- Blizzard

This strategy is purely based on not taking any damage at all. By using confuse ray first you got a 50% at not getting hit then follow with thunder wave making it even harder to hit you and follow with hail will have froslass fully set up. with Froslass' ability to evade attacks in hailstorms plus bright powder 9% evasion increase and it's almost impossible to hit froslass. Blizzard to be added as it doesn't miss in hail, and it does 110 damage all that together makes it one of the best Pokemon. Plus, if the opponent keeps switching you can paralyze their entire team
Note: people I use this on almost always quit

Role: Suicide Lead/Crippler

Froslass @ Focus Sash/Choice Scarf
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest Nature
- Destiny Bond / Trick
- Icy Wind / Ice Beam
- Will-O-Wisp / Toxic
- Shadow Ball / Hex

  • Destiny Bond/Trick - Destiny Bond for Focus Sash, Trick for Choice Scarf.
  • Icy Wind/Ice Beam - Icy Wind if you're using a slow team. If not, use Ice Beam.
  • Will-O-Wisp/Toxic - Both are to cripple either Physical Sweepers or Walls.
  • Shadow Ball/Hex - Shadow Ball for instant high power + 10% chance for a Sp. Defense drop. Hex is to be used after spreading Status.

Froslass @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Spikes
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Destiny Bond

Start of with Spickes for some good chip damage if they switch in. Then follow up with ice beam/ Z shadow ball, and if you think you are going to be knocked out then use destiny bond.

Froslass @ Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hail
- Blizzard
- Poltergeist / Shadow Ball
- Water Pulse

  • Hail: It's good to have hail with Snow Cloak and blizzard cause blizzard does not miss in hail and snow cloak it will be immune where opponent will take hail damage
  • Blizzard: 110 power move that cannot miss in hail
  • Poltergeist / Shadow Ball: I would prefer Poltergeist but its little low accurate and it does not work without opponent having held item it would not need Shadow Ball but it's also 110 power move like Blizzard
  • Water Pulse: Good to have counter for fire types and it can confuse the target

Froslass would be immune to hail damage anyway due its ice typing. All Snow Cloak does is boost the evasion in hail.

Froslass @ Wide Lens
Ability: Snow Cloak
252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Poltergeist
- Hail
- Triple Axel
- Confuse Ray

This thing will KILL if you get hail and confusion off. It's super fast and pretty strong. Poltergeist is strong STAB that reveals a target's held item. Triple Axel wreaks havoc on everything. Confuse Ray is for missing chance, as well as Hail/Snow Cloak. If you get it going, it's a sure sweeper.

Gen 8 NU

Froslass (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Ice Beam / Icy Wind
- Spikes

With Bronzong leaving NU, the usage of Xatu dropped, meaning Froslass can set up its Spikes more easily. This set has been used recently on balanced builds to help break through common cores and set up Spikes. Will-O-Wisp is used to cripple the physical wallbreakers in the tier. Hex is for ghost STAB and deals double damage against Pokemon that are inflicted with status conditions such as burns or poisoning. Ice Beam is used for ice STAB. Icy Wind can be used instead to slow down opposing Pokemon. Spikes is used to pressure grounded Pokemon not holding Heavy Duty Boots since the hazards chip opposing Pokemon.

Gen 8 SS Monotype Lead/Dual Screens Support (Ghost)

Froslass (F) @ Light Clay
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Spikes
- Taunt

This Froslass set is to be used as a lead/support Pokemon for Ghost teams in SS Monotype. This is basically the Screens Deoxys-S set but on a Froslass. Light Screen and Reflect are used for screens support to halve the damage your teammates take (barring crits). Spikes are used for an entry hazard that can chip opposing Pokemon to put them in range of your teammates' attacks. Taunt is used to prevent opposing lead Pokemon from setting hazards on your side as well as status moves such as Toxic. Taunt is also useful to prevent setup sweepers from setting up.

by
Taunt ruins this set
...That's why Taunt is on this set. The only real Taunt Pokemon that is really bothersome are Grimmsnarl and Sableye on Dark teams, but Ghost teams aren't really winning vs Dark teams anyways so...
Froslass is also one of the fastest leads in SS Monotype. Other leads such as Heatran, Toxapex and Ferrothorn are completely blocked by it. Tapu Koko is the only common lead which knows Taunt and is faster than Froslass.
I didn't think about taunting the taunter

Offensive Froslass (lead): gen 9 monotype (ghost)

Froslass @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
- Hex
- Taunt

This is a set that has worked very well for me alongside this team, which brought me to the upper 1300s.

It's a suicide lead. You can use thunder wave to cripple an opposing sweeper like Chien-pao, that is otherwise a serious threat to ghost teams, hex is good damage when it isn't resisted and goes well with thunder wave, ice beam can get a quick OHKO on mons like brambleghast, breloom, or garchomp, and also has that 10% chance to freeze, which can occasionally come in clutch. It also provides a relatively effective counter to Ting-lu (taunt for hazards + super effective ice beam), and pretty much any bird. The sash lets it live a hit to paralyse, and cursed body can force switches on choice mons, or taunted mons with only one damaging move. It's actually very fast, but watch out for meowscarada, which will protean into a pure dark type and take neutral from ice beam 0_0

There's not much left to be said for this one, other than do NOT lead with it when your opponent has Hatterene.

Gen 9 NU Choice Specs

Froslass (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Cursed Body
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
- Spikes

Despite the base 80 Special Attack, Froslass makes for a good Choice Specs user in Gen 9 NU due to its STAB combination being nearly unresisted. (The only ones that can that are useable in NU are Pyroar and Houndoom. Houndoom isn't good in NU, and Pyroar doesn't like switching into a Tera Ice Ice Beam.) Ice Beam and Shadow Ball is a nice STAB combination and are the only two attacking moves Choice Specs Froslass needs in the current Gen 9 NU meta. Trick allows Froslass to cripple defensive Pokemon that can check it such as Blissey, Tera Steel Appletun, and Umbreon by giving them Choice Specs to lock them into one move. Spikes, despite being used on a Choice Specs set, is actually useful since Froslass can take advantage of the switches it forces, allowing it to setup Spikes to chip opposing Pokemon. Tera Ice is used to make Ice Beam go brr.

Gen 7 UU

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Destiny Bond
- Icy Wind

Frosslass’s main niche in SM UU is leading off with Spikes on Hyper Offense teams. It’s high speed, access to Taunt and spin-blocking makes it the spiker of choice for most hyper offense. Spikes enable offensive Pokemon like Latias, Mimikyu, Scizor, Sharpedo etc. to grab a large number of KOs that they would otherwise miss out on. Taunt stops Defog attempts, prevents Froslass from being set up on and can be used to deny Stealth Rock. The EV spread maximizes bulk to let Froslass get as many layers of spikes as possible. Icy Wind helps vs some faster offensive Pokemon like Manectric and Aero. Destiny Bond is filler. Froslass is a one-dimensional Pokemon, but it’s very good at the one thing it does.

Why would you want HP EVs on a suicide lead that is meant to die as quick as possible?
The bulk might occasionally help you to get a 2nd layer of spikes or an extra attack off. Feel free to replace with SpA if you want.
