Suspicions against two users.

Question

This is concerning ShinyFire and Mr Gamaken.

I recently had my suspicions aroused, as ShinyFire seemed to be answering an awful lot of Mr Gamaken's questions.

ShinyFire is active and spamming answers, but even so I think an awful lot of them are Mr Gamaken's questions, and they both say in their profiles that they are friends.
Also on this question, I received an upvote, then immediately received a downvote, and supect it is ShinyFire acting out of spite, no proof though.
Also, I'm not trying to boast, but I was fairly confident I would get BA, so was a bit surprised to see ShinyFire receive it, and suspect maybe Mr Gamaken is obliged to give it to him because they are friends.

I decided to act when I saw this question.

The main thing that bothered me is the time span, ShinyFire typed that in a span of 2 minutes, even simpler answers seem to have a span of 5 minutes, and this isn't exactly a short answer, even if he just typed the titles and cpied and pasted the contents. It is obvious that he prepared the answer before hand and simply copied and pasted the whole thing.

Of course there is no solid proof, but I still wanted to put this out here.

To ShinyFire and Mr Gamaken, this is nothing personal, I'm just a bit suspicious.

The guy copy-pasted from the source. imo two minutes actually is a lot for that. Other than the editing ofc.
And well, Gamaken asks a lot of questions (lol don't take that personal) and Shiny answers a lot of them. It won't much of a coincidence that most QAs that involve them follow that pattern.

I checked into it, and despite your suspicions, I found nothing conclusive to suggest the two are doing anything against the rules.

That is, neither of them have the same IP address.

Crimson, you really shouldn't have been worried. Rather, you should have done a bit of investigating.

In the example you used, everything was copy-and-pasted. If you go back to the question now, I had to edit everything to make sure it was block-quoted. Really, copy and pasting a few passages is pretty easy to do in a few minutes, so it wasn't 'planned'.

And I'm not sure if this is a recurring issue or not, with ShinyFire answering questions really fast, a lot of ShinyFire's answers are just blockquotes. All of your examples except for two (I think) are literally quotes with a 'Hope I helped - Source' thing at the end. So that's the only reason he's a fast answerer.

Also, after going through ShinyFire's answers and Mr Gamaken's questions, I only went through the first few and there was no shocking similarities. Among the first seven questions on Mr Gamaken's list, only two were answered by ShinyFire.

So really, there was nothing to be worried about in the first place.
