Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections.

Remember, small corrections only! If you're reporting something more substantial than a missing picture or incorrect data, please make a new thread!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

The description for the move Matcha Gotcha, introduced in the Teal Mask DLC, is still incomplete. However, we already know what it does.
It's a Grass type move,
80 power, 90 accuracy, 15 PP,
special, no contact, hits both Pokémon in a double battle,
heals the user for 50% of the damage dealt to the opponent(s),
has a 20% chance to Burn.
It also thaws out the user if it is frozen.
Sorry if I missed anything.

The moves Foresight and Odor Sleuth, and the ability Scrappy allow Normal and Fighting type moves to hit Ghost type Pokémon.

Mind's Eye, the ability of Bloodmoon Ursaluna, also allows Normal and Fighting type moves to hit Ghost type Pokémon.

update dragon tail description to mention that it only ends wild pokemon battles if the level of the user is a higher or equal level to the opponent else there will be no effect

Do other force switching moves also have this error?
circle throw but not the non-damaging ones

See the Teal Mask Pokédex for the first part of the DLC, or the Kitakami Pokédex for the main Scarlet/Violet game.

That comes from the Indigo Disk Pokedex page, and the part that says Kitakami Pokedex links to the Scarlet and Violet Pokedex.

Oops, fixed it thanks.

In the All Pokemon master list the pictures for the Darmanitans are in the wrong order. Right now the pictures go Standard - Galarian Standard - Zen - Galarian Zen. When the stats and data show it should be Standard - Zen - Galarian Standard - Galarian Zen.

Thanks for reporting, I've fixed it now.

The affected moves part of the Reckless page has the description from Iron Fist' page.

Moves affected
The attacks classed as punching moves are shown below with their normal and boosted power:

However, these are recoil moves, not Punching moves.

*seems to be a wide-spread thing for later TMs to be missing from a lot of mons

  • The effect description for the Cherish Ball, 'rare' is misspelled. (Maybe intentional?)
  • Sinistcha's page doesn't use the Ken Sugimori artwork.
  • Ogerpon's page; their other forms doesn't have the official art.

Ruination's page shows the move having a power of 1. Other halving moves, like Nature's Madness or Super Fang have a hyphen.

Thunderclap description doesn't mention that the attack fails if the target doesn't intend to use a damaging move.

There seems to be some minor mistake when it comes to the location of Rhyhorn in pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver. It can be found at the Safari Zone as well, but only Victory Road and Diglett's Cave are mentioned.

Several reliable sources (such as serebii.net and bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net) all confirm they can be found at the Safari Zone as well. Specifically in the Savannah area during morning and day.

All the Safari Zone locations in HGSS are missing.

There seems to be a mistake with the location of Togepi (and evolved versions). It says you can only get it by trading or migrating from another game. But its a whole big thing how you get to hatch Togepi from an egg. I guess you technically can't find Togepi as you get it in the egg form. But the way it currently is is pretty misleading.

Based on cross-checking with Bulbapedia, the following locations are missing for Togepi (and cause incorrect flow-on 'Trade/migrate...' entries for Togetic and Togekiss):

  • Violet City in HG/SS (Egg from Professor Elm)
  • Nimbasa City in B2/W2 (trade with Yancy/Curtis), as well as Dream Radar
  • Friend Safari in X/Y (Fairy-type)
  • Lavaridge Town in OR/AS (Egg from NPC)

I added the missing entries to this post since Togepi encounters are not missing for every game, e.g. FR/LG and Pt are correct.

The location of Corsola seems to be missing for Soul Silver / Heart Gold. It says it can only be traded/migrated from another game, but they can be found by fishing with a good or super rod in: Routes 19, 34, 40, Cherrygrove City, Olivine City, Cianwood City, Union Cave (according to Serebii.net and bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net).

I do not know if this has already been brought to your attention in another way but there is a slight error on your location guide for Route 8 in the Galar section.

A Crustle (Iv 40 for me) can be encountered in the over world right before Steam drift way, however it is not listed.

This might be more of a suggestion than an error, but I think the HM slave searchers (like this one for XY) should list Smeargle as learning every HM.

Snorlax is at Motostoke riverbank but it says you can't get it

On Charizard's page, it says that you can only get Charizard, in Sword and Shield, from trading or migrating. However, you can get a gift charmander postgame. Therefore, it should be evolve Charmeleon.

Edit: Forgot about raids

You can also just catch the line in raids

[Editing this, because it still isn't working]

For some reason, the moveset searcher isn't working.

It brings up an incomplete list of Pokemon that can learn the move. This happens regardless of where you access the site, or who is using the search service.

Highly specifically, I can't get Rayquaza to show up.

I was originally looking for a 'Mon in FireRed who could learn Brick Break and also Aerial Ace (besides togepi or charizard ), and nothing came up that I liked, so i searched Fly and Brick Break instead, and it didn't work. So, I searched for guys compatible with Fly, and a ton of guys didn't come up, including Rayquaza.

Also searched for outrage, rest, dragon dance, and hyper beam to similar, incomplete results.

I've been testing this for six days now, and the results are always the same; incomplete.

Hmm, I think it's probably using SWSH data now and obviously many Pokemon aren't available in SWSH. Will think on it and try and find a good solution.
Awesome.
Hope it gets resolved soon

Sweet!
It works

Not a big thing, but I was looking at Beautifly's Pokedex entry and noticed this. In the Pokedex entry it shows what moves she can learn, but if you go to any of the moves she learns by level up, it doesn't show her in the list that she can learn it.
(As in, she learns stun spore at level 15, but if you look at the move stun spore it doesn't show that she learns it on level up)

Edit: I thought that I read that it was Black and White, not SwSh. My bad. Hey Pokemaster, do you think that you could use tabs like there are on some of the other pages to switch between the different versions? Whatever route you go, I don't envy the amount of time it'll take to add all of those entries for every version. Oof

Not actually an error. This happens because the movedex pages are for Sw/Sh, and the dex entry you're viewing is for US/UM. (Beautifly doesn't exist in Sw/Sh.)
Yes, with Pokemon entirely missing from SwSh it messes up the move page. I'm working on an update to include all Pokemon, but trying to figure out the best way to display them all without overloading the page.
Hi, PM, a stupid suggestion, maybe you can like limit to what gen what game only then showing the nat dex or local dex of theat specific game? and the general nat dex, let the user choose which edition of national dex to view? i know it gonna be a super big trouble for you, but as we can see, pokemon is gonna having their move edited and edited again after adding/deleting multiple mons/move in future game.
