Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections.

Remember, small corrections only! If you're reporting something more substantial than a missing picture or incorrect data, please make a new thread!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

The moveset checker doesn't show Forretress for a set of Toxic Spikes, Spikes and Stealth Rock. Or Showdown! got it wrong.

Oh and I should also note that when I put spikes and toxic spikes in,  it didn't say results for spikes toxic spikes and stealth rock but saidonly toxic spikes and stealth rock
The moveset searcher doesn't work for Pokemon that don't exist in Gen 8.

In this site, the levels of Pokèmon you get from swarm (Black/White) are totally wrong!

Let me list those ,

  1. It is said in this site that from route 1, we can only get a Farfetch'd of level 2. But this is not correct because We can find it at 10-52 range
  2. The level range given for Mankey is inaccurate, because I conducted there a super-long search for an entire day. Actually, it is also 10-52
  3. Wyanut's level range is also the above one!

Briefly, the level-range of swarm Pokèmon are same (except plusle/minun) but the details listed about them in Pokèdex is wrong!

Source: My experience

Thank you!

Pokemon Locations Now, when Pokémon Locations were added for Pokémon Sword/Shield, I see some locations are not listed. Because, Galar added a new mechanic, where Pokémon are guaranteed to be in a certain spot in the overworld. When you enter the location, that Pokémon will spawn, regardless of conditions. Like an Eldegoss on Route 5. Or Zorua In fields of honor, or Marill on challenge beach, or Snorlax at Mostoke Riverbank. Those Pokémon will be guaranteed to be there when you enter the location on the overworld. Please fix the locations so those are listed. Maybe a “Guaranteed Encounter” Section.

This site mentions that you can't get a Zorua in BW2. But Rood gives it to you in Driftveli City saying that it was previously N's Pokémon. Similarly, in Zoroark's locations, it is not mentioned that you can get Zoroark by evolving Zorua.

I believe this should be reported here
Oh then it is already reported in the first answer. Thanks!

Not sure if this has already been said or not, but the gym leaders and trainers has two mistakes I noticed.
1. The more important of the two, Leon's Pokemon are not shown, I'm not sure if this is because he uses random Pokémon and it's random every time, which I think is untrue because I've seen people say he has a Charizard always.
2. A lot of the pictures of the leaders are missing, or not showing if they were there.

It would be helpful if this, the Leon thing more than the pictures thing, could be fixed. Thanks!

by
He doesn't chose "random" Pokemon per se, it matters on the starter. For example, if you chose ze Rabbit, then, hop would have a monke, so Leon would have an Inteleon. Additionaly, he would have a rhyperior to "counter" your rabbit. There are others I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think he always has a haxorus, c-zard, Aegislash and like possibly a dragapult. :)
Thanks, that clarifies, also, we should still fix this, maybe have him have three sets, like serebii does?

In Zorua's Pokedex Page, It is said that you can't obtain any on Black 2/White 2 unless traded/migrated, while it is possible to get one in Driftveil City as a gift from Rood. You can probably fix it by putting "Driftveil City" into the "Where to find" part on Black 2/White 2 section of Zorua's page.

It states that in pokemon sword and shield, the only way to get lucario is through evolving riolu, however, I have caught one and know that you can find them in north lake miloch.

Maybe I just read it wrong or they have updated the game, but this is annoying because I ended up evolving a riolu through friendship just so I coud breed it for another save.

Wandering Pokemon in the Wild Area are missing from PokemonDB's location guide, so you should use a different website for Sw/Sh locations.

Just a little thing that I thought to bring up. I think it would be a nice little detail that could be put into thePsychic Type page, and that's something similar to this:
As of Generation 8's Isle of Armor DLC, every Psychic type combination has been used, thanks to Galarian Slowbro.
It's just a little thing, but a nice detail that makes things feel more... cohesive and informative. Feel free to do what you like with this information, but I know others would at least appreciate this change.

In the Sword and Shield version exclusives it put Sawk and Throh as Isle of Armor version exclusives which they are from the base game. Even so, the two really aren't version exclusives as in Chirchester (City with the rock/ice gym) there is a trade of a vanillish for the other version exclusive.

by
Version exclusives mean that you cannot catch them in the game, however you can trade for them in the game.

This site says that walking has a 9% probability of meeting Minun in both Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. However, in my Alpha Sapphire, you have 9% probability of meeting Plusle and 0% probability of meeting Minun.

It's also worth noting that, if Bulbapedia and Serebii are to be believed, the chance of many of the other encounters are also incorrect.
https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Hoenn_Route_110#Generation_VI
https://www.serebii.net/pokearth/hoenn/route110.shtml
I didn't mean that it's exactly 9% (I thought so, because pokemondb says it), but that there should be Plusles instead of Minuns in Alpha Sapphire. Nevertheless, someone should check these percentages and correct them.

In every route that contains water in Unova says that you can catch Red-striped Basculin in both Black and White but in Black you find Red striped and in White you find Blue striped.

by
This should go on the thread for the location guide... though I recently added an answer that points out a very similar error, so I'm not sure it's necessary you add this answer there instead. https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/meta/14511/corrections-improvements-to-our-location-guide?show=77265#a77265
They're not game exclusive they can just be found in different patches of water

On the site the point requirements for the rules to go away (for new users and the like) change. Sometimes they say you need 40 points other times you need 80 points. It's nothing major (which is why it's here) but it could be confusing to new members for what you actually need.

by
Who/what is "they"?
Are you referring to the message at the top of the page prompting you to read the rules page? If so, are you able to link where you're getting info on when that message will disappear?
It’s because you got a question closed, so the points increase so you can look at the rules.

Crabrawler is not included in the listings for all pokemon that can learn the move Crab Hammer through level-up. This error was likely made because only Crabrawler can learn it and not its evolution Crabominable according to site statistics

by
This site is usually good at keeping track of pre-evolution moves. I think the reason is that each move page lists only the Pokemon that learn the move in the newest games, and Crabrawler can't learn crabhammer in the newest games.

The site says that Dialga and Palkia are not found in BDSP if you go to their page

In the page for Altering Cave, it is said that many Pokémon including Smeargle, Stantler and Shuckle can be found. This is incorrect as only Zubat can be found in the cave.

(P.S.: it is also worth mentioning that in the data of Pokémon Emerald, it was planned to have those Pokémon in the cave along with some unused text that hinted at this, but alas, it never came to light.)

I realize that a couple days ago I made an answer that stated that some moves on the Legends: Arceus pages of Pokemon's moves were incorrect. I realize that majority of moves had power and accuracy changes for that game, so at some point could the Legends: Arceus move pages be updated similar to how Gen 1 Pokemon have accurate Red and Blue pages like Hyper Beam being physical.

Hearthome City

The site shows there are no Pokemon in Hearthome, but you receive an Eevee there in Pokemon Platinum. The same mistake is on the Eevee page.

by
Many gift Pokemon are missing from PokemonDB.

Shaymin Scarf Pikachu should be changed to become its own form of Pikachu in the Pokemon Go Pokedex (Similar to Balloon Pikachu and Pikachu Libre) because Shaymin Scarf Pikachu exclusively learns Grass Knot

The list of moves affected by sheer force needs to be updated for Gen 9

https://pokemondb.net/ability/sheer-force

by
There should be a way to automatically keep the list mostly updated, so Pokemaster needs to manually add only the special cases like anchor shot and genesis supernova.

Hello!
About Lileep, wiki does not specify that you can´t catch them in Pokemon Y, being exclusive to X version.
That´s it :)

by
To be clear, you can revive Lileep in Y. It's only the fossil that's exclusive to X.
