Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections.

Remember, small corrections only! If you're reporting something more substantial than a missing picture or incorrect data, please make a new thread!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

Edit: dang it didn't work.

tm 47 steel wing is wrong because thats the fire red location not the gold location which is in kanto rock tunnel.
Route 28 isn't even in Firered. You *can* get TM47 in Rock Tunnel, but you can also get it on Route 47, according to Bulbapedia.

The ability Quick Draw doesn't have a description for its effect in its page (https://pokemondb.net/ability/quick-draw)

Seems like a fairly simple fix though, so you can just say something along the lines of "Gives a 30% chance for each move to receive +1 priority."

Just thought it was probably a silly mistake, probably worth pointing it out.

Also, forgot to put this as an answer, oops.

Quick draw description

Another user has pointed dit out before but didn't answer on this thread so I will instead. If you go to the quick draw page, there is nothing under the 'effect' subtitle, unlike other ability or any sort of description

Qwilfish is available in Pokémon scarlet and violet through the DLC, yet the evolution method described is something along the lines of 'use a strong style move 20 times', which is not possible in scarlet and violet as this is of course the evolution method in PLA. In SV, qwilfish will evolve once it learns barb barrage.

The Move Tutor moves section of the "Moves learned" portion for both BDSP and SwSh learnsets both redirect to the Pokémon Move Tutors page, though they have no info on those respective games.

Hisuian Sneasler evolves in Legends: Arceus by using a Razor Claw during the day. But in Scarlet / Violet it evolves by holding the Razor Claw while leveling up during the day. Can you include both in the evolution chart?

The move "Chilly Reception" is apparently not
learnt by any Pokemon but it is actually the signature move of both Galarian Slowking and Kantonian Slowking in gen 9. It also does not state that if there is no party Pokemon to switch into, it will only cause snow. (Source: https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Chilly_Reception_(move) )

The Pokédex entry for Hattrem states:

"Evolution of Hattena; evolves into Hatterene."

Hatenna's name is misspelled. This error is also present in the hyperlink, which redirects to a non-existent page.

The Pokémon evolutions by trading page lists the four Kanto trading evolutions as Alakazam, Machoke, Graveler, and Gengar, as opposed to Alakazam, Machamp, Golem, and Gengar.

On the Pokémon Move Groups page, many infinite accuracy moves are missing past Gen IV, such as Smart Strike, Flower Trick, and False Surrender.

When will you put in the official artwork for Gouging Fire, Iron Boulder, Hydrapple and Sinistcha?

Battle Bond's "Effect" description doesn't state that Greninja no longer transforms, but instead boosts it's own stats. It only says it for the SV in-game description.

  • Gulp Missile's page doesn't state that flinging the Arrokuda will lower the target's defense.
  • Ice Hammer's effects description is a copy / paste of the in-game descriptions. It should be formatted like this:

Ice Hammer deals damage but lowers the user's Speed by one stage after attacking.
Stats can be lowered to a minimum of -6 stages each.

On the Sacred Fire page: https://pokemondb.net/move/sacred-fire (and assuming on other Move pages) it does not list moves learned by the "Remember Moves" feature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

by
The weird thing is that Entei's page lists these moves, which means the information is already in the site somewhere.

In the 'Type Coverage Checker' tool, there's an error where, when selecting the 'Old Type Chart' feature, Pokémon that are Fairy-type from Gen VI onwards lose their Fairy-type. For example, Togepi, which should be Normal-type, acts as typeless, while Togetic becomes pure Flying-type instead of Normal/Flying. I've discovered this by enabling the feature and selecting all types, in which all pure Fairy-types are placed in the Normal effectiveness tab, even the ones that were pure Normal before Gen VI.
Edit: Just thought of a solution, remove Fairy type if the mon is dual-type (e.g. Mawile Steel/Fairy -> Steel, Azurill Normal/Fairy -> Normal) and replace Fairy with Normal if the mon is pure Fairy (e.g. Cleffa Fairy -> Normal), hope that helps (and is possible).

But the exception is that they have to make togetic fairy/flying to normal/flying etc... when already dual type pokemon got its fairy type...

The flavor text in Snowscape should acknowledge that it summons a snowstorm, which in turn raises the Defense of Ice-types, as well as the other effects from hail (replaced by snow starting in Legends: Arceus), except for chip damage. According to other wikis:

The snow weather condition has the following effects: Activating Ice Body, Snow Cloak, Slush Rush and Ice Face; Changing Weather Ball to Ice-type and doubling its power; Allowing Blizzard to bypass accuracy checks; Halving the power of Solar Beam and Solar Blade; Causing Moonlight, Synthesis and Morning Sun to recover 1/4 of the user's max HP; Allowing Aurora Veil to be used (effects linger after snow ends); Raising Defense of Ice-type Pokémon.

This should be implemented in the Snowscape page, similar to what happens in the other weather conditions' pages.

Levels for Lombre and Floatzel seem to be incorrect here:
https://pokemondb.net/location/kalos-route-16

According to Serebii, they should both be levels 34-36.

by
Bulbapedia Seribii, and the Pokémon wiki on Fandom all say Lombre is 34-36 and Floatzel is 35-36. I checked. The only thing wrong in that case would be Lombre's level.
@Froggyfrogsock The page also says Floatzel is 57-59 while surfing

There seems to be some minor mistake when it comes to the location of Rhyhorn in pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver. It can be found at the Safari Zone as well, but only Victory Road and Diglett's Cave are mentioned.

Several reliable sources (such as serebii.net and bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net) all confirm they can be found at the Safari Zone as well. Specifically in the Savannah area during morning and day.

by
All the Safari Zone locations in HGSS are missing.
