Meta-PokéBase Q&A

Decided to make a new thread myself for this so I can get the responses via email. Here you can report any minor errors with the main site instead of starting a lot of new questions. Things you can report here include:

  • Spelling/grammar errors.
  • Incorrect data (e.g. Pokemon with the wrong abilities listed, moves with the wrong power/type and so on).
  • Missing pictures (sprites, icons and artwork).

As I fix the errors, the answers will be hidden. Try and keep comments to a minimum to avoid clogging up the page, stick to important things like additions/corrections to the corrections.

Remember, small corrections only! If you're reporting something more substantial than a missing picture or incorrect data, please make a new thread!

Please, post corrections as ANSWERS, not comments. Thanks :)

The list of moves affected by sheer force needs to be updated for Gen 9

https://pokemondb.net/ability/sheer-force

by
There should be a way to automatically keep the list mostly updated, so Pokemaster needs to manually add only the special cases like anchor shot and genesis supernova.

Hello!
About Lileep, wiki does not specify that you can´t catch them in Pokemon Y, being exclusive to X version.
That´s it :)

by
To be clear, you can revive Lileep in Y. It's only the fossil that's exclusive to X.

Hello, there is an error on the garchomp and the magnezone pages for Scarlet/Violet locations. You can actually find these on the side walls of the Crater in Paldea and garchomp can also be a Tera wild pokemon in the west province. I’ll update this if I find any other Pokémon that can be found on the crater edge.

There seems to be an error on the page for Mystical Fire. Despite the fact that Delphox learns it upon evolving (something Delphox's page notes), the Mystical Fire page does not list Delphox as one of the Pokemon that can learn the move.

by
This is because those pages haven't been updated to Scarlet Violet, they're updated to Sword and Shield. Delphox was not in Sword and Shield

Snom is available at Dalizipa Pass. You can also get one from an in game trade
On snom's page, it says that you can only get it from breeding a frosmoth in scarlet and violet

Hey, I'm not sure if anybody is fixing things, or am I doing pointless job here :D

Unfortunatelly whole location is missing in PKMN Fire Red on your site and that's the famous / useless for emulators the Altering Cave in Kanto (Sevii Islands) - north of Six Island on Outcast Island.

As all other sources will tell you, you would need Mistery gift to find anything else than Zubat (lvl 6-16).
Which, as I researched, is not possible over PC emulators.
8 other Pokémon might appear if you do set all properly as for example in this tutorial, all details there.

All I see on site is Altering Cave in Hoenn which doesn't contain PKMN Fire Red or Leaf Green. So if there is any effort to repair that? Question Question Winke Winke xD

by
Only one person can make the fixes. He checks this thread periodically. He will appreciate you helping.
nice thx Fizz

Garchomp's page says that it can only be obtained by evolving Gible and Gabite. Garchomp can actually be found in the area between the Pokemon League and the Great Crater, flying around.

Here is an example.

by
Scarlet and Violet's location data is not accurate on this site, I would go to Serebii or Bulbapedia. PM will fix this eventually
Also in a rock area between medali and Zapacio I think. It's not a cave because it's open.
I found a tera water Garchomp somewhere, but I forgot where it was.

I just wanted to post an issue I found for Spiritomb on the site. It claims the only way to get it on Scarlet/Violet is through trade but it is possible to find one in the wild. It only happened once so far but I found one in the wild in Scarlet.

by
where did you find it? you have to be more specific than that
I found it in the Glaseado Mountains/Casseroya Lake: Socarrat Trail area up in the snowy mountains. It was at the eastern tip of the snow biome east of the North Province(Area Three) fast travel. As I was typing this I went to the area to get the name of the area and found another there. I read an article on GameRant that it can be found at the ruins south of Grusha's Gym. I decided to check there as well and found one there. It should be noted that it tends to defeat itself in battle using Curse and Memento so a Quickball would possibly be the preferred ball to try to catch it with.
SV location data on the site is currently inaccurate. It will all be fixed in the future

Thanks, I've added them.

Transistor was recently nerfed in Gen 9 to only boost Electric moves by 1.3, not listed on the Transistor ability page.

by
Does that apply to Dragon's Maw too?
“The counterpart Ability, Dragon's Maw, did not receive the same reduction.”
That's really weird, poor Regieleki that's unfair
I mean Regielek(t)i is fast

On Route 115 for ORAS, it lists Swablu as the sole available Horde Encounter at a 35% appearance rate. Either there are other Pokemon available, (like Route 114 has two other encounters,) or Swablu is a 100% encounter rate

Saw that the move Double Hit is listed as a physical type move with 35 damage and 90% accuracy for Arceus, but it's actually a status move with 0 damage and a never miss accuracy.
Btw, thanks for all the hard work that goes into this site!

by
Who told you double hit is a status move?
I believe that they are referring to the Legends Arceus version, which is a status move.
It is in PLA.
I'm playing it right now and it's a status move. If I look at the move it says it's a status move with 0 damage, never misses, and has 10PP. I've had wild Pokemon use it and it doesn't damage me, rather, as the in-game description says, "the user adopts a hard-hitting stance to increase the damage dealt by its moves by 50 percent". Again, this is in Legends Arceus.
In that case, I think the site just needs to note more differences between Legends Arceus and the other core series games.

While moving the mouse over the ability "Soundproof" the following text is displayed "Gives Immunity to < q > sound-based < / q > moves."
Obviously the "< q >" is a typo or a mistake due to the "/" in the last "< q >", please fix it :)

This isn't really an error, but with the Unused Type Combinations page, there are 4 missing combinations, all of which are exclusive to Paradox 'mons.

Ground/Fighting (Exclusive to Great Tusk)

Rock/Electric (Exclusive to Iron Thorns)

Fairy/Fighting (Exclusive to Iron Valiant)

by

Don't Alolan Geodude and Salandit also have those type combinations?
Oh, Salandit. Dang it. But Alolan Geodude doesn't count, due to being an alternate form.

https://pokemondb.net/move/all is missing moves from the Teal Mask. These are:

  • Blood Moon
  • Ivy Cudgel
  • Matcha Gotcha
  • Syrup Bomb

In the Gen 4 movesets, it doesn't say anything about scizor learning bullet punch on evolution.

by
That's because it doesn't.

In the gen 1 move set for Mr. Mine it says that they learn confusion at lv 15 even tho they already learn it at lv 10. They don’t even learn a new move at lv 15

by
Did you test any of this?
Yeah, ballslover32xxx, every other major Pokemon data website backs up the claim that Mr. Mime learns Confusion at level 15, but if you can back up the claim that it learns it at level 10 with hard evidence, you should probably also edit the Bulbapedia article, ballslover32xxx.

Day 164 of Ivy Cudgel barely existing, I think this counts as incorrect data as Ivy Cudgel does have Power, Accuracy and PP, and a alternating type between Grass, Water, Rock and Fire.

This has bugged me ever since I joined 5 months ago so if you fix this and let people know what it does that would make my day.

by
Same with Syrup Bomb, Blood Moon and Matcha Gotcha. What makes it even weirder is that while the recent Indigo Disk moves have their data, the earlier Teal Mask moves don't.
I said that

Mystical Power is outdated as of S/V. In Legends Arceus (the game that introduced this move), it boosted either attacking or defending stats depending on the higher one. Nowadays, it just boosts SpA 100% of the time.

by
I think every move introduced in Legends Arceus isn’t updated.
I guess so. I also checked Ceaseless Edge and Victory Dance and they're all outdated.
So what does Victory Dance do now? In LA at least it was physical Quiver Dance
It boosts attack, speed, and defense by one stage.
Actually, in LA, it raised the user's "offensive" and "defensive" stats, and also increased the damage dealt by the user's moves by 50%. Now, it just raises Atk, Def and Spe by 1 stage each.
Basically Physical Quiver Dance

The move data for chilly reception is missing which Pokèmon can learn it.
