the amount of upvotes the top answer for that question gets?
The amount of upvotes the second answer for that question gets?
the amount of upvotes the top answer for that question gets excluding answers that aren't selected?

I get this is a big question but I'm not asking for exact stats, just a few good examples with an estimate or average or an opinion from someone with experience.

Just curious. I bet It's pretty low for all of them.

1. I think this question is kind of pointless, as the knowledge isn't really applicable to anything.
2. I don't think that this data would be easy to obtain reliably, and if there was a way to do it I bet it would be meaningless. Most viewed question has top answers with 23 and 16 votes. Second most viewed question has two answers with 1 vote each. Third most viewed question has top answers with 9 and 6 votes. I doubt there's even a correlation between views on the question and the votes it gets. If you look at the top viewed questions you'd see that they range from 42-0 point just on the first page, and I'd wager it's because anybody counts as a view, not just registered users (who can vote).

Short answer: there's probably no correlation so this data would likely be meaningless
well when I posted this I really just wanted to know if my answers were dog water or if not enough people saw them, but then I realized that they were just bad.

As HT said, there's really no way to gather these data or infer anything meaningful about the results. Number of votes also obviously fluctuates with site activity; during peaks e.g. 2014 and 2020, more answers got more votes. Nowadays it's rare to see anything go above 4 votes.

Regardless, the number of votes a given post receives is invariably lower than its number of views. This is because only a tiny fraction of the people who view a post can actually vote on it.

You could write a scraper to answer the question but I agree nothing would be gained.
