Terakion @ Focus Sash
Trait: Justice Heart
EVs: 252 Atk / 48 SAtk / 208 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Close Combat
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Standard Terrakion, except it devestates Sand better than most (based on calcs, damn PO). Rock Polish and you become faster than Excadrill. Close Combat takes down T-Tar and Excadrill easily, as well as those Steel types you'll find. Stone Edge is STAB of course. And HP Ice takes down Gliscor and Landorus. I mean, Stone Edge and CLose COmbat take down everything else well enough. Do make sure to use with a Rapid Spinner, Forretress or Starmie.

Terrakion
@Choice Scarf
252atk 252speed 4hp
Adamant/Jolly

-Close Combat
-X-Scizzor
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

I am amazed that no one is yet to post a choice scarf set, it is one of the most used Terrakion set at the moement and is just as deadly as the Choice band set.
Choice band gives him well over 400 speed allowing it to outrun all non scarfed meaning if Pokemon such as Dragonite who havent boosted.
It still has great attack and a close combat from any terrakion hurts, but the def drop is no worry as it wont be in long because of choice.

Time for the chaos known as NU Terrakion.

Gen 9 NU Choice Band

Terrakion @ Choice Band
Ability: Justified
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Iron Head / Quick Attack / Sacred Sword

Because of DLC 2 Quickdrops, Terrakion can be used in Gen 9 NU since it is PUBL at the time of this post. (Use Terrakion while you still can) Terrakion is a very scary Pokemon in NU, with defensive counterplay being almost nonexistent. Choice Band Terrakion basically shreds the tier apart. Powerful STAB moves Stone Edge and Close Combat are dangerous for the tier as almost no Pokemon in the tier resist Rock and Fighting moves. The only ones who do are Palossand and Toxicroak. (Though Toxicroak gets sent to the Earth's core with an Earthquake) Earthquake forms the infamous EdgeQuake combo and is useful for Klefki and Toxicroak. The last slot is honestly a filler move. Iron Head is used to smack Fairy-types such as Sylveon, Florges, and Diancie super effectively, (With Diancie being sent to Mars) though Stone Edge also 2HKOes most Fairy-types. Quick Attack is an option that can pick off faster Pokemon that are weakened. Sacred Sword is an option so Terrakion can break past IronPress Pokemon such as Duraludon. Tera Rock is used so Terrakion can 2HKO Gligar as shown as in this calc:

252 Atk Choice Band Tera Rock Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 200+ Def Eviolite Gligar: 158-188 (47.3 - 56.2%) -- 82.4% chance to 2HKO

So, ummm, yeah. There you have it. Enjoy using Terrakion in NU while you still can!

Chaos known as NU Terrakion part 2

Gen 9 NU Swords Dance

Terrakion @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Earthquake

If you want to use Swords Dance Terrakion in NU while you still can, here you go. With Swords Dance, Terrakion can boost its scary attack stat and have the freedom of not being locked into one move. With a +2 attack boost, Terrakion can just cause chaos to NU with its powerful STAB combination of Stone Edge and Close Combat, sending Pokemon to outer space, the shadow realm, Narnia and back 7 times, whatever universe or place you can think of. Earthquake forms the infamous EdgeQuake combo that is useful against Toxicroak. Lum Berry lets Terrakion cure status that can hinder its ability to spread fear to the NU tier sweep. Tera Ground is used to make Earthquake a STAB move, making it useful to muscle past Palossand, a Pokemon who can actually check Choice Band Terrakion. In other words, this set can throw off Palossand expecting a Choice Band set.

I'm wondering for how long will Terrakion be in the same tier as Qwilfish.

Gen 9 NU Substitute + Swords Dance

Terrakion @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge / Tera Blast

A Substitute Swords Dance set Terrakion can use in Gen 9 NU. Terrakion used this set in Gen 5 OU, and its future form Iron Boulder uses a similar set in OU, but with Tera Flying to setup on Gliscor. In other words, this Terrakion set uses an old set with a new technique so it can setup on Gliscor's little brother, Gligar, who is still common in Gen 9 NU.

Substitute lets Terrakion scout what the opponent is going to do. With Tera Flying, Terrakion can get off a free Substitute against Gligar since it can avoid getting hit by Earthquake and avoid an incoming Toxic, allowing Terrakion to freely setup on it. Swords Dance boosts Terrakion's attack so its attacks can break past defensive Pokemon. Close Combat and Stone Edge are powerful STAB moves, with only Palossand and Toxicroak (Toxicroak isn't really relevant in the current NU metagame at the time of this post) resisting its STAB combination. Tera Blast is an option so it can have a STAB move to wear down Palossand as well as having another STAB move that doesn't miss. Leftovers is used to give Terrakion some HP recovery. In addition to Tera Flying letting Terrakion setting up against Gligar, Terrakion can use Tera Flying against Pokemon such as Palossand and Choice Scarf users such as Flygon locked into Earthquake and Flamigo locked into Close Combat.
