Can't select Pokemon in Pokemon showdown?

Question

Since I don't hav a ds or Pokemon oras/xy I wanted to battle in Pokemon showdown. But when I enter the battle I can't choose my Pokemon. When I press on my Pokemon, it only shows me the stats and item but not select it. Even if I somehow do manage to select them, the same thing happens to my moves. It doesn't use the move but instead shows me what the move does. Need help and quick! If any of you have experienced this before, pls help me! Thanks!

Since this is not an actual question about the game/gameplay, I'm not sure it's allowed. You would have a better chance of getting an accurate answer if you asked a Showdown Moderator or something.
But to answer you question, are you on mobile? Pressing once on something will show the data first, then pressing again will select it. On a computer you wouldn't have a problem with this, as simply hovering over the move/Pokemon with the mouse will reveal its data.

From the rules: Two exceptions are Pokemon Online and Pokemon Showdown which are popular battler simulators.
Also, Pokemon Showdown! doesn't support Internet Explorer. If you're using that, download Chrome or Firefox or something like that. They're free.

I also use mobile to play showdown, but its harder to control than on a pc. You said it shows stats and items, so it should select it. Once you have clicked a pokemon it will display the items. You must click the item you want your pokemon to have, then what ability, then what moves, then finally the EVs in the stats.

Technical problems should probably be directed at Pokemon Showdown! staff or their smogon forum pages in the future. Questions about the site in general, the metagame or non-technical questions are good though.

Well I don't know crap about Showdown but if I've learnt anything from my 7+ years on the internet, restarting your computer/your browser and clearing your cache always helps.

Intro

Pokémon Showdown, often formatted as Pokémon Showdown!, is a popular competitive Pokemon simulator. It was created by Zarel and opened in October of 2011, but it was not until July 2, 2012 that it was adopted as Smogon's official battle simulator. Pokémon Showdown is a web-based project available on all major browsers and also has a downloadable client. This means you can play Pokémon Showdown on web browsers such as Google Chrome or download it from the internet and play it straight from your desktop.

This is what should show after you click the Teambuilder then click+New Team:

After you click a +Add Pokemon :

After you click a Pokemon :

After you click a Pokemon it asks you to click a move then so on and so on until the stats. If you want to skip a step eg. you want to choose a move before the items, just click the text-box.

Also since your using mobile you may have problems using the evs in the stats.
