If you have a good competitive moveset for Flareon, post an answer below and upvote the best ones. Movesets for its pre-evolutions, if any, can also be shared on this thread.

Be sure to include full set details in your post, e.g. items, abilities, natures and EVs. Some detail, including the intended game mode for your set, is also appreciated. Access the full list of guidelines here.

Flareon Pokédex and learnset for reference.

Flareon @ Choice Band
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 SpD / 4 HP
Adamant Nature ( +Atk, - SpA)

  • Fire Fang
  • Flame Charge
  • Return
  • Iron Tail

I really love Flareon, so it’s just a shame that it doesn’t have a good move pool. These are about the best physical moves it gets, so basically use them when you need them.

I based this off of PS btw.

Flareon @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Impish Nature

  • Facade
  • Flare Blitz / Fire Fang
  • Curse
  • Superpower

I prefer Toxic Orb here bc/ of burn offsetting Guts. You can get a free Curse off while waiting for Orb to activate/opponent switch. Facade is obvious as it gets the Guts boost and Facade boost. Flare Blitz is probably better here as Fire Fang is kinda weak but if you don't want recoil put on Fire Fang. Superpower is awesome rock type coverage.

A Pokemon with Guts doesn't suffer the Attack drop from a burn. Flame Orb is the better choice.

Why are you investing in Speed if you plan on using Curse? I'm not the greatest competitive player, but that seems like a waste of EVs.
Uh X you can't use a Flame Orb on Flareon.
You actually have to run Toxic Orb because Flareon is a fire type. Fire type Pokemon can't get burned.
Oops, forgot that small part. My bad, lol.

Flareon @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Facade / Wish
- Flame Charge
- Yawn
- Curse
This set works best when you are having a teammate that sets up Tailwind, first, use Yawn, then you would put your opponent to sleep, use Flame Charge to stall one turn and then start using Curse, then use Wish to heal yourself up, then you can spam Flame Charge. This probably a bad set but is kind of funny.

Eevee @ Eevium Z
Ability: Anticipation
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD
Impish Nature
- Last Resort
- Double Team
- Substitute
- Baton Pass

This set should only be used in AG, because baton pass is banned from Ubers (I think). Substitute first, then Evoboost, Baton Pass in the face of a taunter, or use Double Team and then Baton Pass. The ability Anticipation is to see if the enemy packs Fighting type moves.

Eevee sets aren't allowed here, or are they?
"Movesets for its pre-evolutions, if any, can also be shared on this thread."

Clearing flags because of that. Additionally, Baton Pass and Eevium Z are banned in LC, so it's illegal on the LC threads.

Gen 8 ZU

Flareon @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature

  • Flare Blitz
  • Rest
  • Sleep Talk
  • Facade / Superpower / Iron Tail

Flare Blitz is STAB. Facade is Guts-boosted, Superpower or Iron Tail for rock types. Rest heals off Toxic Orb and Flare Blitz damage. Sleep is still a status condition so you get a Guts boost, which is where Sleep Talk comes in.

Well, Flareon’s movepool is absolutely terrible, and it’s stats are not a show either. So crippling the opponent is the only option. So I got one that might work...

Flareon @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Will-O-Wisp / Toxic
- Fire Fang
- Facade
- Wish

  • Will-O-Wisp / Toxic - Setup
  • Fire Fang - STAB
  • Facade - Coverage
  • Wish - Recovery

Sprite

The Toxic Orb is to activate Guts, which will massively improve Flareon’s attack stat. While worse than the Flame Orb, Flareon is a Fire type, which means it cannot be burned. The 252 EVs in HP is to help it survive the Toxic Orb, and the 252 EVs in attack is to raise it higher. The 4 in speed is so you can get the first attack. The Jolly nature helps its speed, which on Flareon, is essential.
Will-O-Wisp or Toxic is to cripple the opponent, I would go with Will-O-Wisp, sense it will halve the opposing attack, and with Flareon’s poor defense, you are not gonna get far without it. Fire Fang has STAB boost, and for coverage. Facade is useful do to the Toxic Orb, and combined with Guts, that is one of the only good things about Flareon. And Wish is for recovery, because that is another essential thing for Flareon.

Flareon...Its movepool is just...(Gen 8)

Flareon @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature

  • Flare Blitz
  • Flame Charge
  • Rest
  • Sleep Talk

Flare Blitz for STAB. Flame Charge to speed up and do damage. Rest to heal yourself when you get in low-health by Flare Blitz. Sleep Talk to attack while asleep. Why does Flareon have such a limited movepool? Unfair if you ask me. (My opinion!)

Gen 8 ZU

Flareon @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Flame Charge
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Is this set gimmiky? Yes. This should be used once all Pokemon that resist fire types are weakened or knocked out. Flare Blitz is STAB and becomes powerful once Guts activates. Flame Charge is to boost your speed. Rest is to heal off the recoil you've taken from recoil and poisoning. Sleep Talk is so you can move while sleeping, and you get a Guts boost while you're sleeping.

Found a random shiny Eevee, and evolved it into Flareon, this is my set:

Flareon @ Passho Berry / Choice Specs
Ability: Guts / Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest / Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- Scorching Sands

  • Will-O-Wisp (Status condition, halves physical move's BP)
  • Shadow Ball (Covers Ghost and Psychic)
  • Flamethrower (STAB, covers Bug, Ice, Steel, and Grass)
  • Scorching Sands (Covers Poison, Electric, Rock, Steel, and Fire)

Explanation :
Flareon has no moves to cover Water or Ground, but since water is a better type in my opinion, the Passho berry can be used to tank moves, or you can switch out when you find a water or ground type. I really love flareon, and thought a special set would be really cool to run, and I think Flareon can be good if used properly. You can run a speedy one with max Spe evs and Choice Scarf, but its not as good in my opinion.

Flareon has a better attacking stat, but its special attack isn't bad either. Just wondering why you decided to make it a special attacker.
I decided to go for an unusual set, and since most people who see a flareon expect a physical set, you can catch them off guard
Oh, cool! I'll try it out on Showdown to see how well it works.
thank god flareon got scorching sands in isle of armor tho, w/o it flareon would be so much worse

Gen III
Role: 1 HP Sweeper

Flareon @ Salac Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 68 Spe / 220 Atk / 220 SpA
Hasty Nature
- Endure
- Flail
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Iron Tail / Shadow Ball / Quick Attack

For physical attackers/sweepers, use Endure, Flail and speed boost of Salac Berry. For special attackers, use the right one of other moves according to the opponent's weak def or sp.def. Quick Attack is also a good option as a priority move. EV distribution can be changed.

you should put Spe for speed, Spd seems like special defense
What are the EVs for? They look really random. If you use this in ADV UU or NU, I reccomend quick attack to revenge kill opposing 1 HP sweepers.
You should put flare blitz as an option since this is more psychical than special
Hi guys, i'm gonna make some explanations: I am really new in pokemon games. But I know some rules and game dynamics. Stats, attack types, EV, IV, priorities, etc. But I don't know special calculations about attack powers, tiers and high-level strategies. While I was playing FR, I had this idea about Flareon and I wanted to write it. I don't know tiers, but I specified this moveset for Gen III. In Gen III, all attacks of a certain type is physical or special (For example, all fire attacks are special). So, I can't focus just on physical or special attack stat in here and actually EV distribution is according to this situation a little bit. I aimed to benefit from Flail for most pokemon, and Iron Tail and Shadow Ball (ghost moves are physical in Gen III) for Rock, Steel and Ghost types as physical attack. And I aimed to benefit from Fire moves as special attack. I know Flare Blitz but it's in Gen IV. (And yes, using Quick Attack is a good option for 1-HP sweepers and I added it.) Physical and special attack discriminations are starting from Gen IV. And in this situation, I tried to use both of Physical and Special stats and I tried to use speed boost of Salac Berry. So, I distributed EVs like that. Maybe, to activate Endure-Flail mechanism easier, 0 Def IV can be given. My knowledges are like that and I'm trying to learn. If you want to improve this idea, please state your opinions. And if you have suggestions about how i can learn the high-level strategies, please state it. I would appreciate.
If you don't have any specific benchmarks in mind, it's usually better to just go with Max-Max. For example , on this Flareon it may be a good idea to run Max Attack and Max Speed. Fire Blast doesn't need Max investment to melt Steels and Grasses usually. I have quite a bit of experience in Gen 3 NeverUsed, it's a really cool tier when Flareon is like a top 5 threat. If you want to learn about it, there's a really cool discord server for it I'll link on my profile. Feel free to send me a few wall posts if you have any questions regarding competitive Gen 3. You can also use this set on Pokemon Showdown(I don't reccomend using it in Gen 3 OU though, it gets hardwalled by Swampert there.) It'd be pretty good in Gen 3 NU, which you can request matches for on discord.
@SSWD Flare Blitz doesn't exist in ADV.
@Cdijk16 thank you so much to help me. I was watching a lot of YT videos about Pokemon Showdown for a long time, but i couldn't understand what the terms mean. I can't spare so much time for games because i will start a new job anytime soon. If i can be available, i will write on your wall. Thank you so much again.
Ok, you're welcome.

MrKensa: is rolling random S/V Pokemon
gets flareon
MrKensa: uuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh

Kill Me Please (Flareon) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Guts
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Ball
- Body Slam
- Trailblaze

Don't use this in OU. Shadow Ball for coverage since it needs that. Tera Fire to make you Flare Blitzes hurt a tad more in the lower powerlevel of NU. Trailblaze to hurt anything that might hurt your feelings, and Body Slam because what else is there to put. This thing has a miserable move pool and stats, but an attack stat equal to Machamp so keep that in mind.

What you beat:
Non-Scarf Heracross
Blissey

What you lose to:
Espeon
Non-Sheer Force Hariyama
The Many, MANY Rock and Ground types of NU

Top Teamate:
No one. This is only good as a standalone Pokemon.

That's all from me. Have a good day.

Murder isn't illegal if they don't catch you,
MrKensa

Wow, I just found out that Flareon lost Superpower. God Gen 9 has hurt a lot of mons.
A different tera type and Tera Blast could work instead of Body slam.
btw it has the same attack stat as Machamp, not more.

With Flareon getting Trailblaze in Gen 9, it finally has coverage for Water and Ground types. However, Trailblaze isn't even that good of a move. Here's a mixed set for Gen 9 ZU.

Flareon (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flash Fire
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shadow Ball / Tera Blast
- Flamethrower / Heat Wave
- Trailblaze
- Quick Attack

Shadow Ball and Trailblaze are the only useful coverage moves besides Dig and Double Kick, as Dig is very predictable and Double Kick not having enough power to KO Pokémon like Stonjourner. Flamethrower is a great STAB but Heat Wave can be used too for extra power. Quick Attack is Flareon's only priority move. Tera Blast Ground provides great coverage.
