Aggron can combat all its weaknesses because of the large amount of tms it can learn. it can learn a lot of move tutor moves aswell like ice punch, thunder punch, fire punch, dragon pulse and aqua tail.

Thunder Wave lets him out speed for a Powerful Flinch Chance Iron Head, While having Head Smash for painful STAB, and Earthquake for great coverage.

How about rock polish except of thunder wave.
Thunder Wave and Iron Head create Para-Flinch hax, where the opponent can rarely move due to paralysis and Iron Head's flinch chance stacked.

So basically, if there's a Pokemon with a Water, Fighting, or Ground type move, you can kiss your iron dinosaur behind goodbye.

I'm not sure this squeezes everything out of this build but this is my Mega Aggron offensive tank which can take quite a beating.

Aggron (M) @ Aggronite
Ability: Sturdy / Rock Head / Heavy Metal (Mega Aggron's Filter trumps them all)
EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Heavy Slam
- Power-Up Punch
Start by buffing his attack and damaging the opponent with Power-Up Punch. Mega Aggron will come last in most any fight so you plan ahead so that you can Rest up his HP on the turn his hp is brought down to a 1 hit KO amount. Rest is also there to remove any pesky status effects the opponent tries to bring him down with. Now once he's asleep Mega Aggron needs to survive three attacks in order to rest up again. So now your either in a good position to Sleep Talk for those next two turns or your opponent hits like a truck and your forced to either swap him out for something that can better deal with it. Or hope and pray Sleep Talk triggers an attacking move and does enough damage to remove that threat. Bring him in with his def and sp def boosted via baton pass and he'll be even more impossible to bring down.

With 252 Speed, you can basically outspeed almost everything in OU barring Choice Scarf and priority after an Automize, which isn't that hard to get up considering Aggrons bulk and access to Sturdy when not mega evolved. Iron Head is STAB with the nice flinch change, Façade laughs at people trying to TWave or WillO, and Earthquake is nice coverage.

Mainly to sweep, but watch out for anything with priority, like Talonflame.

Explanation

Mega-Aggron is a lot like Mega-Steelix, but better. First off, its amazing Filter ability allows it to take less damage from super-effective attacks. Mega-Aggron's pure Steel-typing also gives it a plethora of resistances. In addition, it gets good Utility moves, such as Thunder Wave. Finally, it has an above average 140 base Atk and a sky-high base Defense of 230!

EVs are needed to give M-Aggron decent bulk. Because of its already high Defense, it needs minimal investment. The EVs in HP and Sp. Def help it to take Special Attacks better. Impish nature is required to further boost its Defense.

Stealth Rock is almost always a mandatory on Aggron. Thunder Wave can cripple sweepers, while Roar gives M-Aggron an opportunity to rack up as much as damage as possible. Metal Burst is a good move because Aggron can tank a move and retaliate back with a more powerful attack.

Head Smash gets good damage, but has a nasty recoil and doesn't get STAB when you mega-evolve. Stone Edge is a better alternative for avoiding recoil, but still does decent damage. Earthquake provides good coverage and deals with other Steel-types that can wall this set (ex: Ferrothorn).

Usage tips

This set is primarily designed to be used as a bulky Lead, but it can also be used mid to late-game. In certain cases, you should hold off Mega-Evolving Aggron. For example, to avoid a super-effective Fire attack, you shouldn't Mega-Evolve and take neutral damage instead. Also, use Roar only on certain Pokemon. If you predict a switch-in, use a super-effective attack.

  • Head Smash - 150 power+STAB with no let-up
  • Iron Defense - to make him even more defensive
  • Iron Head - good STAB also a 30% chance to make the Pokemon flinch
  • Thunder Wave - to not only slow your opponent down but sometimes they can't atk .Also with iron head you've got a para-flinch combo.

dragon tail, swagger, earthquake, toxic, sandstorm, ice punch, fire punch, thunder punch, aqua tail, outrage and heavy slam are also good choices.

This set is meant to take advantage of the fact that Aggron is a slow heavyweight. The Iron Ball is there to boost Heavy Slam and Gyro Ball, Stone Edge to hit anything else, and Protect in case of Grass Knot.

Grass knot is extremely uncommon. Also only put the IV's you changed, not the 31 IV's. Also everyone knows about Gyro Ball doing more damage the bigger the speed gap compared to the opponent. The EV's look a bit weird but apart from that, this set is fairly good.

Head Smash is a really powerful move coming off of 252+ attack EVs, STAB and a Choice Band Boost. Earthquake is a strong move. Heavy Slam is STAB. Aqua Tail is for coverage.

230 base defense+Body Press is a destructive force. Filter allows it to shrug off even super effective physical hits. Iron Defense makes your defense even more monstrous. Stealth Rock is self explanatory, and so is toxic. Do note however that it is walled by Aegislash.

A specially / physically defensive Stealth Rock setter. Stealth Rock is for setting up rocks. Head Smash is for rock STAB and is recoil free due to Rock Head. Body Press provides coverage against steel types such as opposing Aggron, and works well if you make this physically defensive. Heavy Slam can be used instead if you want to use a steel STAB. Protect is for scouting and also gives you a free turn of Leftovers recovery. Alternatively, Toxic can be used to poison switch ins.

I've yet to see a Sturdy + Custap Berry Aggron set so...

Credit goes to Smogon user Machineae for coming up with this Suicide Lead set. This set works best on HO teams. You're going to need to predict a little so you can use Metal Burst to fire off massive damage to opposing Pokemon, wheter it is from something like a Close Combat from Sirfetch'd or Rotom-Mow Volt Switch and bringing in another Pokemon. When you reach Low HP, Custap Berry will allow you to use Head Smash so you can make yourself faint, or use Stealth Rock to setup rocks. Earthquake can be used if you need it for coverage. This set purposely has only 252 Attack EVs along with 0 IVs in Defense, Special Defense, and Speed coupled with a Brave nature so you can dish out more damage with Metal Burst. You also outslow Bronzong by 8 points with 0 Speed IVs and a -speed nature.

Mega Aggron is used as a Stealth Rock setter in NatDex UU. Stealth provides a hazard to chip opposing Pokemon switching in. Heavy Slam is used as Mega Aggron's STAB move as it is pretty heavy. Earthquake is used to hit Steel- and Fire-types. Fire Punch can be used instead to OHKO Scizor. Toxic allows you to cripple Pokemon such as Hippowdon should they switch-in to Mega Aggron.

Simple. First, Aggron uses Curse to increase the Attack and Defense stats. Then it can OHKO or at least 2OHKO anything with its attacks.

Give it bulk up/ work up instead, aggron is already super slow, you don't wanna add to that factor, it can cause you problems!

For me the best moveset for Aggron is this

Aggron @ Liechi Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 230 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Automatize

- Aqua Tail

The trick for this strategy is using Automatize to raise Aggron's speed then, and even If Aggron get's OHKO, it still has sturdy to make him resist any move. If that happens, Liechi Berry will raise Aggron's attack making him capable of not only outspeeding dangerous foes but also beating the crap out of a lot of Pokemon. It works fine for me.

The first moveset is supposed to be unexpected and be faster than Pokemon with less than 300spe. Head smash is 1.5 times stronger than stone edge, goes well with rock head, and has the same accuracy as well as good stab, iron head has good stab also, while aerial ace and aqua tail are good coverage against those 4x effective moves.

The second moveset is supposed to withstand special moves without the use of sturdy. It has zoom lens so head smash and aqua tail won't miss. The decrease in speed means it will be able to utulise the effectiveness of zoom lens. Maxing out the sp.def allows it enough bulk to take down some special sweepers.

Speed is needed to outspeed threats like Tyranitar

  • Earthquake: Must I explain?
  • Head Smash: Egg move, because of rock head, you can have a non-recoil, 150 power STAB move! It is a must for this guy.
  • Iron Head: Powerful STAB, chance to flinch, 100 accuracy, no drawbacks, a very good move
  • Dragon Claw / Brick Break: All three are coverage. Dragon claw for all the dragons in OU.
    Brick break is for threats like excadrill and tyranitar.

    Head Smash is too precious to leave out! Iron Tail is one of the most powerful steel type move for Aggron....so Hone Claws is a must.
